funnily enough he plays just as deep as he did last season, but it works now that yildiz, koop or nico can pass the ball forward and loca is a pure dm

an other flawless game. nothing fancy, but players like deschamps made a living out of being simple and reliable
he has more support, whenever someone has the ball there’s always another player coming to offer an outlet. Under Allegri that short game wasn’t really a thing. Loca has been great, arguably the most consistent player so far with Gatti and Bremer.

Promising start of the season, been really crucial for us thus far so credit where it’s due, but ultimately let’s not forget he also had a couple of purple patches like this even in the last couple of seasons that were then followed by a huge drop, so let’s see if this time around he can actually be consistently good and reliable for longer term.

here's an other one:

I find some of these stats hard to believe. I haven't checked the other stats, so they could be true, but I checked that dribbles stat and it says that he attempted only 1 dribble so far in serie A, and it was unsuccessful. I found the particular stat unbelievable simply because I watched all our matches and I don't even remember him attempting a dribble.
Perhaps they confused him with Douglas Luiz who has 7/7 dribbles.

you might be right about dribbles. write a pm to the guy who runs the site, he's open to questions and happy to explain what data they are working with. once i asked him about some stat i also found suspiciously wrong and based on what he explained, they have access to much more detailed data than the most used stats based sites (whoscored, sofascore) usually publish

that said i can't remember one single dribble from locatelli either. they can have a record of 1/1 successful dribbles from locatelli though

https://fbref.com/en/comps/11/passing_types/Serie-A-Stats
https://fbref.com/en/comps/11/possession/Serie-A-Stats
etc

according to these, loca is:
- 2nd overall in completed passes, only bremer has more
- 2nd midfielder in completed short passes, freuler has 3 more
- 1st mid in completed long passes, tied with calhanoglu
- 1st mid in passes to final 1/3 (2nd if you consider de roon as a midfielder; he played both as a cb and a cm this current season)
- 1st mid in touches
- 4th mid in progressive passes (behind freuler, guendouzi, bernabe, and 5th if de roon qualifies as a mid)

can't find dribbles though

is someone getting paid to watch these games and record stats or is it AI based?

imagine someone having to watch allegri games for work? there must have been so many people who quit that job lol

small sample size and he's not even playing all the matches. still not far fetched to think that he's finding his rhythm better in the current system

Is that page admin a Locatelli fanboy or what? Based on the follow up posts it seems that he is 1st in barely a few of those stats. lol

No doubt he’s been looking overall better thus far this season though.
