I have one problem with Wine though... the pane/buttons.etc. layout is messed up for a lot of windows applications.

Maybe it's just the version I have that came with the Knoppix live distro that I've been using. Though Wine is actually pretty interesting and usefull. It sure beats the hell out of running a whole virtual machine just to make use of a windows application.

When it comes to viruses, doesn't linux have it's share of nasty viruses?

This just proved it. Linux and it wannabe Windows Emulator sucks. It can't even run the basic programs that can multiply itself in Windows.
so you guys still wanna stick around with Linux?

No, that is common to Wine. The widgets are always messed up in Wine (mouse handling is buggy too) because you're emulating an environment that is different from the native one. My guess is that it's hard to include the wine gui environment into the existing linux one.

In any case, most people stay away from Wine if they can cause it's ugly and buggy. I only use it for Dreamweaver myself when doing site updates.

Sadly, linux wasn't designed to accomodate viruses :( It's very difficult for a virus to propagate in linux because by default the user who gets exposed to it is running in an unpriviliged account. So the virus can't access system settings, it can only mess with the user's home directory.

I assume this is a wind up? :)
