Luis Suarez - Forward - Liverpool (6 Viewers)

If possible, would you sign Luis Suárez?

  • Yes, he's a great player

  • Yes, but only if the price is right

  • Begrudgingly, his talent outweighs the negatives

  • No, his character doesn't reflect well on Juventus

  • No, he is almost subhuman

  • Kill it, kill it with fire!

TS links. Apparently our number one target for the summer. Madrid and City will choose between Cavani and Falcao. Guardiola may not want to upset the balance at Bayern so he may decide to pull out seeing as Lewandowski, Gomez, Mandszukic, Robben, Ribery and Muller seem like enough firepower. That leaves Juve. They claim the price is 30m. I'd sell one of Vucinic and Gio and one of Quag and Matri and go all guns blazing for this guy. Perhaps the only player who will take the team up a couple of rungs. Aguero and Cavani are priced out of the equation. This might be our last realistic (long) shot at a WC player all things considered.

Vucinic is close to 30 years of age. His value would be closer to between 13-15m depending on hoe he finishes the season. Although if this was realistically a part of the equation I'd do it in a heartbeat. It's a no-brainer.

What if Liverpool want the same fee as Torres (basically €58m), which seems inevitable given his status and form?
They're not in a position to be asking for such a fee if a CL club comes in and convinces Suarez of the project. As Pool's ability to negotiate wrests squarely on the player's will, since their own form and standing in the league has been pretty shite for a while now.

Like they weren't with Torres?

Suarez will want to win trophies. And everyone knows it wont happen in Liverpool until their talent tactics peak.. Suarez can go everywhere in the world, yet he'll consider Juve as much as everyone else IMO, so it'll be a call of money by Marotta

Seriously, it's a dream to have him here but it will always remain a dream.
Liverpool paid 24-25m € for his services. Having him for a few years and selling him on for a greater amount of money (10m € extra) could be possible. Atletico Madrid paid nearly 40m € for Falcao so naturally they'll want 10m € extra meaning ~50m €.

Falcao ~50m €
Suarez ~35m €
Cavani ~45m €

But signing a player like Suarez will take all of Marottas time. Either you go all in or you stay out/drop it quickly.

I think players such as Higuain and Benzema is possible as well

None of these players is possible with Marotta, seriously after so many transfer windows with him in charge everyone should already learn.

Marotta has build a team on a strong foundation with depth. He could have acted like United and signed less players with greater quality in attacking positions but opted to lie the foundation for it before taking big money risks. Signing Isla and Asamoah proves this point. They're not world class but add to relative weak positions of the team. Lichsteiner has developed into a top class right back but if asked last summer more people would have given the chance to Isla (valuing him a stronger right back at the time)...

This summer we dont need to sign another 5 players. 2-3 will be enough unless we cash in on someone.. I think we'll sell someone like Lichsteiner, Storari, Quagliarella/Matri, Padoin, Giaccherini etc.. But if not, we have depth to only add two or three players. Meaning bigger names, meaning bigger bids..

Um, why? Why wouldn't they want €60m or €70m?

Where does this €10m extra rule come from?

So where was this depth when we were dropping points in January?

Lichtsteiner will not be sold and it is funny that you put him in the same category as Quagliarella, Matri, Padoin and Giaccherini.
Storari is not for sale either.

The fact is Marotta tried to sign world class players and failed, it is not that he chose not to and opted for depth instead.

It seems that you missed how he compared that to the Falcao sale.
