this sets a new precedent, why would fifa suspend a player on video evidence from a game in one of its competition in leagues/competitions that fall within other governing bodies/jurisdictions

They would probably sue FIFA under the grounds that they have no right punish the player in the BPL without FA consent. Try to get the matches lowered or the football activity restriction limited to Int restrictions.
