Del Neri: 'Juve are not in free-fall'
We're pretty much in a free fall ever since that shit draw against Chievo. With the exception of that odd win against last placed Bari.

Am waiting for DN's poor excuse tomorrow when we lose against Udinese. Many things about this season reminds me of last season Ironically.

Including that 18 game unbeaten run for the first time in 5 or so years? That certainly reminds of last season.
It's the big picture that counts, not the small parts of it. 18 matches unbeaten run, 18 wins in a row, 18 defeats in a row all go in the final standings. So what's the point of an 18 matches unbeaten run when in that same season we're out of EL after the groups, out of Coppa and we're 6th (7th?) in serie A?

In the end, we're in the same position where we were last year, doing equally bad in Europe and Coppa Italia. How was this achieved doesn't really matter. Was it achieved through 15 draws or 5 wins and 10 defeats, it doesn't really matter when the number of points is the same.
Like this year, last year too we had some good periods, followed by a bad period after the European elimination. The same is happening right now too.

You know that a team that theoretically gets draws in all of it games last season for example would've dropped to serie B. Even teams that are fighting for relegation wouldn't want that :D

That press conference pisses me off, wow.

"It’s not as if Juve get to the Coppa Final every year usually...”
Really? How can a coach say that?

“Udinese are a side in great shape and picked up six points from their last two Serie A games. In that same period, we got four, so not too shabby”
Not too shabby? Maybe its not too shabby for your old team Sampdoria but for us, not getting 6 points against Bari and Sampdoria isn't good enough. Also, Udinese got 6 points against Inter and Genoa. Not the same now is it?

“Juve deserve respect for what they are doing. If the teams just above us are considered to be in great shape, then why should Juventus be described as in free-fall?"
Doesn't this man understand that there are other expectations for a team like Juventus? Yes, sure, the teams above us are being praised cuz they are teams like Lazio and Napoli, they are overachieving!

This mans mid table mentality is huge. Its scary, he doesn't have anything to do here. Obviously his mentality is not up for bossing Italy's biggest team. Can't blame him for that though, he's 60 years old and has been coaching for 25 years and never been in this position before.

Giovinco will never do the defending and covering Pepe does.
That mentality right there basically tells whats been wrong with our team the last few years. We've been preferring defense in midfield for years now yet it hasn't really made us any better now has it?

I think that DN is doing what he can with our roster. The many injuries are a pain in the ass, also. If we had at least one great striker and one left defender we would be much better. When you have Amauri that keeps falling on his ass these are the results!

It did compete pretty well, some superb performances before the new year, against the the so called "superior" sides according to some like city, inter and milan, with great signs of fighting spirit in the team.
It did not compete otherwise we wouldn't have suffered against Roma spit blood to save a point against Fiorentina, a side that lost almost all its away matches and scraped an X against bottom teams. Forget the two matches against Milan and Inter, we hardly competed anything. Think about the match against Palermo alone.

I can't believe some people truly believe we have a quality squad that can compete with the other top teams, and are blaming injuries to peripheral players as a key reason for our demise.

Our attacking department needs a total revamp. We don't have a proper LW (and no, Pepe is nothing more than a bench player, and you can't keep starting Marchisio out of position). Our fullbacks are a sad joke. This means we need 5 new players in the starting line-up. Now, let's not even talk about our bench!

Our squad is indeed mediocre, and far inferior to the likes of Milan, inter, and Roma. I would even say that Napoli and Palermo have superior squads, if only for the fact that they happen to be more coherent.

2 FBS and a striker to be good enough to comfortably make top 4 but we need some extra added depth if we want to be great and compete for the title.
