4-3-3 with the current fullbacks we have?.. We are getting raped in the wings even now that Pepe and Krasic try to help, imagine what would happen if they don't come back at all.
:agree: Jep besides a 4-3-3 in Italy isn't very likely to be played. He needs to work on his 4-4-2 and start involving movement more on the pitch without the ball, it looks so static.

But why would we field a 4-4-2 when we don't have a clinical striker that makes use of Krasic's crosses? I'm a fan of the 4-4-2 formation but to be honest, a 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 would do better.

Nah, 4-4-2 with Quag was the best, dinosaur football is the best solution for us and traore as LB is good too. Clinical finisher is just as much needed in a 4-3-3 as in a 4-5-1. Rather play with a targetman and a SS (Iaquinta - Quaglia like we did against Catania in serie A)

You guys are forgetting we beat Milan using the 4-3-3. It was a very well-played match by us, probably our best considering our opposition. So I'm really not sure what you lot are going on about.

4-3-3 isn't liked in Italy? Who cares?

I say lets try to be just like barca but with less money!!! and bad management!! that will be good for us. I say we return to the old style of effective boring style and start to win again. When we have 3 great youth players and can buy Zlatan and Villa and Aves and these players we can run that system

Anyone noticed that we never won by a 1-0 result this season ?

Personally i think thats a strong indication that this team have a serious mentality weakness. There are many players in this team that just don't have real confidence in themselves IMO.

A win is a win imo. Don't care if we qualify for CL winning in extra time every game, long as we get the job done.

:disagree: the fact that we never won by a 1-0 result is an indication that there is something seriously wrong with this team.

We've won with 2 or even 4 goals margin but a 1-0 result always shows how confident the players are in themselves and their ability. Even against the shittiest teams in this league we couldn't pull this result.

Back in the days when we dominated this league (pre-calciopoli) we've won "many" games with a 1-0 result.

My point is, our problem isn't just having some below average players in the team. But the whole team is suffering from a serious confidence issue and that was clear even last season.

We've changed the coach + almost the whole team this summer yet this problem still exist.

We can't blame him for us missing easy chances. Starting Amauri was a massive no no and keeping Martinez on the bench for so long was a big mistake

Taking Krasic off after 55 min
Replacing Aquilani (and not useless Amauri) with Martinez at 85', when Martinez should have been brought on much earlier.
His incessant screaming and yelling all game.

LDN pissed me off big time this game. Showed his provincial mentality big time this game.

I was willing to give this guy a chance but it's clear now that he's just another standard hard-headed 19th century Italian coach.

It takes him 80 minutes to put Martinez in and start pressing a bit against a Sampdoria team who barely even has a fucking striker on the field?

Is it possible to try another formation but 4-4-2 even for 20 minutes?

Our best football all year was against Catania when all our useless target men were hurt. Just play the players with talent. Del Piero, Krasic, Martinez. Let's start looking like a real modern day football team.

Even if Martinez wasn't fit enough to start or the uncertainty situation about Del Piero's flu , he shouldn't start Amauri , he should start someone else instead , i don't know who but surely one couldn't worse than Amauri :groan:
