Del Neri: 'I also like 4-3-3'

New Juventus boss Gigi Del Neri has insisted that he has the tactical flexibility to succeed with the Bianconeri.
The former Sampdoria Coach is largely known for his 4-4-2 formation but at Juve he could change his style.
“It is not true that I always play 4-4-2, I also like 4-3-3,” said Del Neri.
“When at Roma I used a trident, but also had the trequartista behind a lone striker like in Bergamo or Genoa. I have always been open to new ideas.
“A tactician always needs to consider the quality and talent at his disposal in order to make the most of his players.
“We will start with four at the back that is for sure. Then we will change according to our rivals.
“Inter have created a 4-2-3-1 which has been fundamental to counter-attack with great speed and that can be seen as an example.”
Del Neri has also discussed what he believes the Bianconeri need to improve upon last season's disappointing seventh-place finish.
“We obviously need to improve but a completely new foundation is not needed,” he explained.
“A team like Juventus, built with many international players, does not need to change too much but just to rediscover itself.
“We need to regain our reputation in Europe by targeting every competition we are. That means the Europa League, the Coppa Italia and, of course, the Scudetto.”
