Yeah, I like it too, but it needs great wingers and fullbacks, and most importantly a Milito-kinda striker, definitely not Iaquinta or this season's Amauri

I just can't imagine a Camo-less right wing in Juve, it's as crazy as a Juve with Amauri in captain

oh, how suddenly EVERY formation needs a "milito-kinda striker"... welcome on the bandwagon ...

if we play with wingers the priority is getting the ball that is crossed in with one touch on goal ... so an amauri/trezeguet type of player would suffice...

and no don't tell me, that amauri and trez are not the same type of player... of course not, but both are decent headers of the ball...

Del Neri: 'I'll give Juve credibility'

New Coach Gigi Del Neri reassures fans he’ll “give back Juventus their credibility by targeting every trophy.”

Although he won’t begin work until June, after Alberto Zaccheroni has returned from a friendly tour of North America, the former Sampdoria tactician is already planning the future.

“As I said last week, the issue here is not about revolutionising Juve, but re-organising,” he told La Stampa newspaper.

“Next season the primary objective of Juventus is to get back their credibility. We’re targeting every trophy, both in Italy and in Europe.

“I hope this is something the Bianconeri supporters can appreciate and they shouldn’t be sceptical because they were expecting a big name Coach.

“It is an exciting challenge for me, as it gives me the opportunity to test myself at the highest level. It’s an achievement to be here, but also a starting point to get the results I haven’t done up until now.

Del Neri is a particularly curious choice considering his famed 4-4-2 approach, which would find no room for Diego.

“When they picked me, the club knew my favoured system was 4-4-2, but that doesn’t mean I can’t change. I already adapted it for Atalanta and Roma.

“It will certainly be a four-man defence, then we can vary the system based on different requirements.”

There are fears that goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon could be sold to raise funds for the transfer campaign, as the club failed to qualify for the Champions League.

“It has been a tough year for him too, but I am certain he still wants to defend the posts of his beloved Juventus.

“I repeat, a crucial objective for Juve must be to win back its credibility and have the strength to believe it can achieve those targets. It is our duty towards the fans and the club owners. This is what being Juventus means.”

To be honest I'm not a big admirer of so much talking... as Mourinho once said :" they talk to much but they do nothing".
The season didn't even finish and another coach talks a lot about future plans and progress.
As we would like to say :" Jump and than say hoorah".

A bit of a cheap shot, imo. What is he supposed to say when asked? no comments? I think he acknowledges the situation. He says, we have to redeem ourselves, and he hasn't said we're gonna play like Barca, nor that he is locked on a formation.

I can't say I expect different, and think even Mourinho would be saying that if he was the one having this job.

if it was Trezeguet or Amauri of 2 seasons ago, I'd say hell yes, but they haven't been in form for a while, hopefully it was coaching problems only, I wish they'd stay and get back to their best forms really I think they're great finishers,.. that way we'll only need a 4th striker as cover, and Pazzini fits perfectly for it

Yeah I wanted to say that earlier but forgot, I hope for once they work silently and show us results, enough with the talking

Well Jasp saying that we we're gonna play like Barca would be insane , this statement is not insane I just consider it damn early, and a coach should be a diplomat in those kind of situation when they ask you something tricky.
I don't think he said something bad, just recognize this statement as the statements we already know from the past few seasons.

They were good words from him they mean very little at the moment. I wont forget what ferrara said at the start of his spell about playing like Barca and all that :D
Spot on Stevie.

Talk is cheap. Next season I would like us to talk as little as possible to the media. It will only effect us bad in the end. Let's just prove our improvement by our actions and results.

before anything i just keep wondering, is Del Neri the best option there is ?!? where did all the quality coaches go ? do we even dream of finishing fourth next season ? or atleast do we even have a chance who was sacked by Porto before the season begins ?
for god sake we won against him in the last season scoring 5 with ease, in which was one of the worst seasons ever for juve.
for the fist time in long time i have no ambitious for the coming season.

You can't judge Del Neri on that game alone. Sampdoria did finish fourth and us seventh.

We haven't signed just a coach out of thin air, it is the whole package we have signed: Marotta, Del Neri, Paratici, the medical staff, minor coaches and trainers. The club has trusted the group with getting Juventus back on track, Marotta obviously can work well with Del Neri and has faith in him, the club has faith in Marotta, we just have to hope they got it right.

really doesn't say much, as shitty as italian soccer have became, the fourth scored +8 on goal difference and the seventh -1 which doesn't say that much considering all the fuss the have and they are not a strong tactical team nor they are an attacking team and not even so good in defence. anyway the point here is iam wondering since there is no quality coaches available, how did Real got Mou ? how Inter will get a good coach ? that we have to wait and c

So basically they're a bad team and good old delly made them finish fourth. Perhaps we could suck next season and win the title.

Del Neri: 'I also like 4-3-3'

Tuesday 25 May, 2010

New Juventus boss Gigi Del Neri has insisted that he has the tactical flexibility to succeed with the Bianconeri.

The former Sampdoria Coach is largely known for his 4-4-2 formation but at Juve he could change his style.

“It is not true that I always play 4-4-2, I also like 4-3-3,” said Del Neri.

“When at Roma I used a trident, but also had the trequartista behind a lone striker like in Bergamo or Genoa. I have always been open to new ideas.

“A tactician always needs to consider the quality and talent at his disposal in order to make the most of his players.

“We will start with four at the back that is for sure. Then we will change according to our rivals.

“Inter have created a 4-2-3-1 which has been fundamental to counter-attack with great speed and that can be seen as an example.”

Del Neri has also discussed what he believes the Bianconeri need to improve upon last season's disappointing seventh-place finish.

“We obviously need to improve but a completely new foundation is not needed,” he explained.

“A team like Juventus, built with many international players, does not need to change too much but just to rediscover itself.

“We need to regain our reputation in Europe by targeting every competition we are. That means the Europa League, the Coppa Italia and, of course, the Scudetto.”
