Wasn't he the Mainz coach few years ago (When they got relegated)?
yes,he was their coach when they were promoted for the first time ever to Bundesliga,he was their coach when they got into the UEFA cup and he was their coach when the small club was inevitably relegated. he is also the coach of a Dortmund team way ahead in the league and playing some fantastic football

it is obvious that Del Neri is out of his depth here and while he got lucky last week with poor substitutions (making a change when we had 2 players receiving treatment and having to leave a quarter fit Matri on) yesterday his tactical ineptitude bit him hard on the ass. he is simply not good enough but it is not 100% solely his fault!
i blame Marotta and the previous imbecile in charge of our recruitment policy for not buying the full backs that we have required for 3 fucking years now! Chiellini and Bonucci should be the foundation for a solid CB pairing for years, instead we have shunted Giorgio out to full back because we simply do not have any alternative. Krasic is isolated because there is no balance to our team and the clubs answer to everything is to buy another Italian forward with no consideration as to who the fuck will actually supply him.

WE are simply not good enough, the team is not good enough, the board are not good enough and the coach is simply not up to the task. we need a radical rethink if we are ever to close the gap on the 2 bastard sisters from Milan.

i say hire THIS man and let him mould an attacking young team
I agree with what you say, but Im not sure Sawyer from Lost is the solution to our problems.

i would like to have deschamps back, he has the juve winning mentallity in his dna. and i just read he didn't take the liverpool job because the asked him too late for it and he didn't want to betray marseille.. But it sounds to me he is open for a new job next year and didn't he say he would like to be a juventus coach again.

Del Neri would never give this job up. If you've been working for crap teams and you finally get your break at 60 years old there is no way you'll end up stepping down just like Ranieri did.

:agree:

Besides, the man has no dignity at all unlike Ranieri. But what's there to say about a top coach, who finished fourth with Samp and a SD who keeps on yapping about how he signed Cassano, that's all he did, the greatest achievement of Marotta is signing Cassano and Delneri making it to the CL qualifiers with Samp. Well, that golden duo won't get you anywhere, Juve.

Here are some interesting things Chirico (famous Italian journalist) had to say about Del Neri. He's a Juve hard-core supporter btw.

- I swear I would have never predicted a loss to Lecce after two wins in a row and specially since we won against Inter 1week ago.

- If I would have brought 10 boys from my hood we would have at least grabbed a draw.

- Whoever thought this Juve is better than the previous one is mistaken. We are the same if not worse. Not a single improvement.

- It's unacceptable to not even grab a point away to Lecce even with 10men. Even with 9men.

- I don't understand his tactics, why did he take out Milos for Storari and not Toni? We could have controlled the midfield more.

- Why are we always playing defensively? I do not understand.

- Del Neri said after the match that we don't have the winning charisma and mentality. I want to ask him this, aren't you the one who chose the squad and players alongside Marotta? Is it not a bit too late to say this?

- We can't even finish in the CL spot and this makes me wonder what a terrible Mercato we're going to have in Summer.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves and blame everyone and everyhing. We've seen before that the coach wasn't our problem, the sporting director wasn't the biggest of our problems and heck even rubbish playes like Molinaro, Amauri and Marchionni weren't. This club is more or less doomed unless some big revolution occurs
