Del Neri:

“Pastore is a great player. Palermo have many talented and valuable footballers. I am thinking about Maccarone, Hernandez, and Miccoli who is coming back. Every Sunday is an exam and Juve must pass the exams.”

“We've had four days to recover from our last game and that's sufficient. Martinez still isn't ready. I hope to have him available on Sunday.”

“Eleven players must go on the pitch. Marchisio and Melo are doing well in their roles. Right now that midfield pairing gives me great reliability.”

“I don't know how this season will end, but I am sure of one thing. We will create an important group this season.”

I don't get the anti-Martínez stance?
Cost 12 mil, showed nothing in pre-season/against Bari. His nickname is the questionmark. Those are not the ingredients to make friends at Juventuz.

He still needs to prove what he really is imo, but so far I'm not impressed by him, and I don't feel he's suits to be a winger.

He's barely played, and in the one game when he didn't suffer from injury (pre season against Milan) I thought he was rather good. Still an unknown quantity (the price shouldn't even be mentioned, not his problem at all). Nickname is El Malaka.

It's impossible to judge Martinez right now, personally I saw some good signs in the EL but coming from his injury I don't expect to see anything particularly good until mid October minimum.

Hardly any of Del Neri's interview made any sense. Its either poor translating or the man just speaks in riddles. And since when have people been comparing us to provincial teams?

There are two factors at play. When people speak they do not speak in coherent sentences akin to written text. They pause mid-sentence and rephrase, and start again etc. Anybody who has ever tried to transcribe an interview knows this.

Then there is the language factor. Translations are often inaccurate. Also, there is the problem of that text being out of context. There is no reference to the questions being asked and the answers are placed beneath each other as if they were part of the same answer. That makes them three factors then. :D

Its completely wrong to bash martinez like that.

he came from injury, and it was not in a settled team he came into, it was in the bunch del neri got trown towards him.

on top of that he played him on a position thats not his usual.

give the man time and stop complaining about how much he costed untill he had a good chance to prove himself.

preseason count for nothing

Krasic also didn't play well against Bari. It was also the first match so we have to give some time for Martinez. And I think he can be good as a LW, he has the speed to fill this position.
