Toni: Win with Juve then retire

Luca Toni has revealed his intention to win something important with Juventus and then retire from football. The veteran striker realised a lifelong ambition when he left Genoa for Turin in the January transfer window. Speaking to Il Corriere dello Sport, Toni said: “I grew up in Emilia, which is Juventus land, and there was only one faith in my house. “Once my father came home with Zibi Boniek’s shirt and that of Michel Platini.”

Asked about his career plans, Toni said: “I don’t pose myself this problem. For the moment, I am living my dream and I am thinking about doing well. “Winning here would be the maximum. In fact, if I were to win something with Juventus I might retire,” he concluded.

With the first-half of the Milan match in consideration, it's difficult for me to find what this man adds when he's on the pitch. A half-player if you ask me.

He had a horrible game. But Del Neri played him all wrong. Instead of holding up the ball in the middle of the pitch and using his height as leverage, he spent most of his time at the wings getting his feet tangled up going for loose balls. He sucked, but he was also completely played to his biggest weaknesses.
