Thank God, it at least means only one of Amauri, Iaquinta and Toni is playing at the same time.
That's if Martinez stays healthy till the end of the season. Otherwise we'll have only DP as a support striker and I'm sure that Del Neri won't play DP match after match. Sooner or later we will see Iaquinta as a SS and one of Amauri/Toni next to Iaq.

Unless we buy another support striker this month.

Well then lets better hope Martinez stays healthy/we get someone (Mutu). Because Iaquinta-Amauri has been awful partnership as long as I can remember and Toni wouldn't change much there.

Toni might become successful here (at least that is what I wish). We have a creative side, we see how much Amauri wastes chances, Iaquinta too, that's because these two aren't really strikers, and we lacked that since Trezeguet's absence, he isn't that old anyway, we see what older players than him can still do..

I can't disrespect this player just yet, let's see what he will do first, then keep on writing your childish comments.

Iaq-Amauri don't work well as a pair. We played well and scored a lot in some of the matches these two started, but it was mostly due to the midfield, which played amazing on those particular matches and scored the goals. The attackers themselves seemed lost and didn't even pass to each other.
But as bad as that partnership looks, can you imagine how an Amauri-Toni partnership will look like? Iaquinta is mobile so he at least opens space, runs on the sides, opens up. What can we possibly expect from an Amauri-Toni partnership?

Actually I don't think Toni/Amauri-DP is a lot different to Amauri-Toni, especially in DP's current form. That's why we desperately need Iaquinta/Martinez back and/or some signing in this January window, probably Lucio and Maicon could outrun our current attackers.

Toni is clearly not Quag's replacement, in any way whatsoever. That is clear from the speed of which the deal appeared done...in relation to Quag's injury. I can only hope that one of our now three prima puntas is leaving and that is amauri.

Whilst our altered 4-4-2 can work with two prima puntas, del neri seems to enjoy making up for the lack of flair on the left flank, by using a more skilfull player in a left-ish support striker role...marchiso is not very creative, DP can make up for this, or Martinez perhaps...

still, quag needs replacing. one of our prima puntas will leave...so I wonder who they are now focusing on to play share the SS role with DP????

If Amauri leaves, for ANY money, I am fine with Toni taking his place. Might have been more prudent to give him 6 months with the option of another year if he helps us get into the champion league, by scoring a certain amount of goals...but amauri is literally dead. when he came on against parma, we were down to ten me...then melo goes...down to 9 men...grosso made it more like 8 men...Amauri was expected to be rusty after yet another injury, but he looked worse than rusty..much fucking worse. the man is an infection, a virus, who once on the pitch, spreads to the rest of the team, it demoralizes them, crushes their spirit..the sooner he is sold, given away or executed, the better for all of us. and for himself, as this consistent and ever worsening humilation must be horrid to live with...

forza toni...10 goals before the end of the season please.

I was against his transfer and still am but comparing him to Amauri is hilarious.

And it seems that he was not a panic buy after all.

I'd understand it if he was a panic buy. We lost our topscorer and we needed a reaction asap so we brought a freebie. But it wasn't a panic buy, we planned to bring Toni even before Quag's injury and I wonder why did we have such a plan at all?
Right now the explanation could be that we planned to sell Iaquinta and Amauri, to buy a striker with the money (probably Pazzini) and to have Pazzini-Toni/Del Piero-Quag for our attack in June.

Quag's injury complicates it a bit so what we planned, if we planned it like that at all, might never become reality at all.
