Midfielder Marrone had been close to Bologna, but that move fell apart at the last minute.

Instead, the 25-year-old is heading to a different newly-promoted club, Serie A debutants Carpi.

He’s likely to be joined by Cerri, a 19-year-old striker who was a star in the Parma youth team.

As with all Parma players, Cerri is now a free agent following the club’s bankruptcy.

The forward will sign a four-year contract with Juventus first, then go out on loan to Carpi.

Cerri spent last season on loan in Serie B with Virtus Lanciano, scoring four goals in 19 games.
