This is partly to do with him playing under Conte for a season, and partly because in possession he is calm and is intelligent enough to fit in with the team. It's something I've admired since I first saw him, he just keeps it simple when he needs to and doesn't hastily smack the ball in any direction. I don't think we should give up players that are capable of doing that. Hopefully he starts in our next Coppa Italia game.
There were a few nice quick passes with pretty much no time to react at all that he did well in. If it were Sissoko/Melo, for examle, the situation would have been different. The kid is cool in the middle of it all and isn't afraid to get creative, take a player or two on when needed, etc. People claim Pirlo hangs on to it too much too often in games, Marrone did it once or twice so people should lay off the alarm bells, it shouldn't worry anyone too much.
He keeps it simple, doesn't over complicate the play making life difficult for his teamates around him. He is strong as well, something I noticed too from a while ago.
