Van Gaal can be a right prick, but he's a great coach and Alen sums our current situation up nicely a couple of posts above. We'd see a side that would simply play better football and he's the kind of man who knows what kind of players he needs for that. I most certainly wouldn't say no, I'd welcome him with open arms.

Having said that, it's not going to happen, is it? We can only dream.

We're still living in 2005 obviously and we still don't accept the fact that we're not who we used to be.

When Juve are rumored to be after....lets say, Mascherano, many complain, wanting a better player, while they don't seem to understand that if we don't get Masch we're not gonna get Essien and we're gonna go after Palombo.

The same case is in this thread. Those who are against signing a world class coach like Van Gaal would prefer some other world class coach, ignoring the fact that we're rarely even linked to a good coach and that if we don't get Van Gaal we will most probably get Conte or Mimmo Di Carlo.

Lets get back to reality. It says that we're a mediocre team that becomes less and less attractive for big names. When there is a chance to sign a proven name like Mascherano or Van Gaal, you take it without thinking, because the choice isn't between Mascherano and Essien or Van Gaal and Mourinho. The choice will be Mascherano or Palombo and Van Gaal or Conte.

Personally I'd put him in the top bracket of coaches, ok maybe not the top 5 or so but not far off. What turns me off, other than his attitude, often ignorance and Bayern being a bit shitty this season is basically because I don't ever see him accepting such a job with how we are right now.

You think AZ Alkmaar was miles ahead of this Juve?

No, but they are Dutch and the pressures at each club are like Venus and Mars. Anybody coming here is inheriting a tonne of shit. This is something we should get our head around in terms of the present and future.

if we are not going to go for a young, hungry manager then by all means Val Gaal is one of the few top coaches around that i believe would be interested in the Juve job. i don't like the man,but you cannot argue taht his record is exceptional
If its between him and Del Neri I definitely go for Van Gaal but if its between him Capello and other top managers then He is way down that list

another thing is I want a manager that knows how to put in a great defence as we are desperately need it now

I'd pick Van Gaal over Capello a million times over. Capello will only guarantee long ball tactics along with extended periods of frustration with constant boring, snore fest football.

Capello will turn things around while I`m not sure Van Gaal can do it
Capello might make us play a boring style of football but right now after those last years I don`t care what kind of football we will play as long as we win
I can`t stand another year of 6th-8th place! We are Juve! We should fight for the scudetto!

I`m not saying Capello is the best manager in terms of beautiful football but he is one of the best in getting results and turning a side upside down

Would be a priceless look on the ultras face if Capello returned

I am afraid Agnelli will listen to their protest and not hire him if we decide to make an attempt.

So it's a fact & you can see into the future?

Get it through your head, Capello won't have the same player quality, finances & support he had during his tenure under the triade. He had players that had a winning mentality, they played together as a cohesive unit prior to his arrival. It's a totally different ball game this time round.

You're spot on here, just like he did with England.

Van Gaal would be a dream for this club at the moment, yet some still think we could get an even better tactician than him somehow.

Get real.

Well I guess I can
now seriously I can see Capello turning this side upside down like he did to many teams in his career I`m not sure about Van Gaal ability in doing it (I can see means Capello is more than capable)

Well he didn`t get much $ to spend there as there was Moggi who knew how to be a good GM while now we currently don`t have a good one
but I do think we`ll have $ to spend given the fact that we must spend now and I think Agnelli knows it
I know its a different situation and its harder this time because of quality and because of the board but I don`t say Capello will get us the Scudetto
I`m saying he`d make us a good and solid team top 3 in Italy as Inter are a good team and so are Milan

If you can see into the future, why didn't you warn the triade about Calciopoli? We wouldn't be having this conversation, so in a nutshell, all this bs thatJuventus & it's fans are going through, is your fault!

Why would Capello need to turn the club upside down when it's already upside down? Either way, we won't get either of them.

He didn't get much to spend, you are kidding right? Did we get Emerson for peanuts? Did we sign Patrick Vieira on a free transfer? What about Zebina? If you're satisfied with improving over clinching 3rd spot for CL qualification then he's your man, just don't expect to get very far in the CL with his pre historic football tactics.

....just don't expect to get very far in the CL with his pre historic football tactics.
No matter the coach it will take us some 4-5 years at least to get far in CL. By that time Capello will retire anyway.
All we need for the next 2-3 years is someone to stabilize the team, make it reach top 3 (which will be needed in order to play CL) for 2-3 seasons in a row. Only then we can start thinking about winning the scudetto and only after that we can think about making our presence felt in CL.

For 2 seasons in a row we're struggling to catch the last train for playing in EL but we still live in denial and we still live in pre-calciopoli time, dreaming about winning the CL.
Come on Byrone, lets be realistic. It's one thing and a logical thing to say that Capello won't accept to work in a club in our condition, but it's another thing to actually refuse a coach because he won't win us the CL.
