It was always going to end like this and in a way, it made sense. Could see this coming from miles off, this sort of ending. The only thing that wasn't so clear is what would happen to the island itself.

I'll tell you what's worse.. I just downloaded the final episodes of 24. Jack Bauer, don't leave meee.

24 is different, they have 1 character which is the only reason I watch it, besides being well produced, but plot and the seasons in general are mostly just suspensful light entertainment, not much to miss. Except as I said, Jack Bauer, he is like 90% of the series.

if you think about it, half of the Lost seasons just became off-topic with that kind of ending.
Exactly, there were so much amazing mysteries and subplots they completely bypassed with the cheap ending. But as I said, I expected it, even if still put off by the last 10 minutes.

Jasper, you do know that JJ Abrams has not much to do with it right besides being one of the executive producers? The two main dudes for this series is Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse, Lost is their child in terms of making it. Abrams is co-creator from the get go, but since I followed Lost since then, pretty much the two guys I mentionned that been running it.

And I literally just watched the ending end 1 minute and 30 seconds ago. Let me digest it a bit. Even if I have been expecting not to be given any better for atleast a season and a half (understood early on in season 5, they wouldnt really come through to what they been touching on).
I am aware, but i just hate JJ Abrams, so any excuse to moan about him i will take. Especially that cloverfield crap (i know he was only the executive producer, but he shouldn't be funding this shit).

It wasnt great at all, but it was an interesting and exciting way to make a flick, the factor of the unknown was well done in that film.

I dont care whatsoever if its a new genre or if it was done before, especially if its obsecure older movies I havent seen or heard of.

Didnt find Cloverfield to be all that, but it accomplished it purpose of interesting me with its viewpoint of making a disaster movie for that 1.30 hrs, kept up the suspense with the unknown invaders, and even if the camera annnoyed me at times, it was coriously personal viewpoint.

Consider this thread hijacked, as there's no reason to make a 24 one now, for the last episode after 8 seasons :D :

No more 24..

I thought Cloverfield was awesome because it wasn't just another cliche movie. It was refreshing to see a new style.

I also enjoyed finding all of the hidden stuff throughout the movie.

Back on topic: the writers of Lost took a cowardly cop-out for their final season, let alone the finale. :pado:

TBH, I am surprised that most of the show's fans have not come up to the creators with torches and burned their homes to the ground.

Personally I thought the whole afterlife ending was fine but I hated how nothing from the show was explained.

I think the writers were to frightened of creating a really disappointing explanation of everything so they just created an ending that left everything open.

I don't think that was possible without extending the season or doing an extra one. I was happy with the whole everyone finally died and met up in the non-denominational afterlife.

:D

Of course I don't expect everything to be explained but I thought since they were planning to end it after this season anyway they could have revealed more. Such as what Jacob was, what that woman who raised him was, who the others are, what the numbers and time travel had to do with anything, and dozens of over things. I understand leaving the Island itself a mystery but after watching for almost seven years they owe me some type of explanation.
