Thats the biggest piece of crap ive heard. Do you know who you are talking about?, DP has won everything with Juve, he has been a superstar for a decade now, and just because the injuries is making it difficult for him to play as he wants to today, doesnt mean he is a lost talent, and that people will remember him for that, which world do you live in.

If Del Piero's career were to theoretically end now, I think people will look back on him as a player who never sustained his full potential. Sure, he won a lot of things, but he hasn't produced consistently at a high enough level for people to reflect on him as a true champion, especially on the international stage

okay then, why don't you show me a period in his post-'98 career when he was in the kind of form to be scoring goals for fun and leading his club to european and domestic honours, as well as his country to successive World Cup finals, scoring 2 goals in one of them to be crowned as champions

Del Piero has been the most important player for Juve not just before 98, but after too. He has lead his team to scudettos after 98 as the captain he is, its just last season and the beginning of this one that he has been weak, (but he is not a natural goalscorer, he does other things for the team that might be to complicated for some to appreciate!)
but with all the injuries that has troubled Del Piero then its easy to understand, plus the man is soon 30 years old!.

The fact that he hasnt won anything with the NT is certainly not his fault, but because of UNLUCK!. And he cant win CL again on his own, I feel its naturally to compare him to Henry, who never has made a difference to France, but because of Zidane and the other teamates has won both WC and EC. He has never won CL though, and he is only the best striker in EPL which is way under Serie A's standard, in Italy he would be nothing. But despite this many sees him as a bigger champion, its unbelieveable and unfair!

I asked you to tell me about Del Piero, not Henry. Btw you can't say that Henry has never made a difference to France, since he was their top scorer at WC98.

Anyway, whether you want to blame bad luck or whatever, the fact is that DP hasn't proved himself at international level, and I know it's "easy to understand" that Alex has had a hard time recovering his form, but that's exactly what the thread's about.

whatever, just dont say that a player who has won everything at club level and has been a captain and a superstar for years is a lost talent, because thats just plain stupid. Injury setbacks isnt the same as lost talent.

He has won everything with Juve and he has been a superstar for a decade. Still, he never reached what he could have reached.

Gigi Lentini, great at Torino, very bad at Milan. There's many others I can't think of right now, he just sprang immediately to mind.
