Looking for pensive, downbeat, reflective music (7 Viewers)

I've been looking around recently for some music that's suitable for driving/chilling (as in sitting on the verandah on a rainy day with peppermint tea in hand), and the following have helped me out a little:

Aqualung (esp. Strange and Beautiful, Easier to Lie)
The Fray (How to Save a Life, Vienna)
Au Revoir Simone - Through the Backyards
Cary Brothers - Ride
Damien Rice - The Blower's Daughter (a little bit but suits my purposes)
Augustana - Boston
Joe Purdy - I Love The Rain The Most
KT Kunstall - Universe and U
Lior - This Old Love
David Grey - This Years Love
Iron and Wine - Naked As We Came


That should give you an idea of my taste at the moment (whether you think it's crap or not), so does anyone have any suggestions?

gray, you should take a look at lounge music, ethnic and some triphop tunes. I advice you to check out Thievery Corporation and if you can't get them, let me know how to start an ftp server on ubuntu and I'll hook you up

Try the Radiohead "Kid A" album.

It's very mellow...with a few upbeat, some jazzy, trip hop, piano, electronic music. Good CD to listen to and day dream.

Otherwise try any of the recent REM albums. They're worse than a Kenny G album where all u have to do is just look at the CD and fall asleep.

Emilie Simon, and Kelly De Martino are my favourites in the calm genre. They both have greate voices.

I haven't heard to any of it, when looking to be calm usually I listen to Malpaís, local group, or Editus, also local. Ambience music, kind of latin-folkloric music, but with great piano and violins.
