The foreigners here should learn to respect the law. You want to have sex on the beach (and I'm not talking about what you order off the menu in a bar 
) there are a few countries out there which would perhaps be a bit more tolerant.
I dunno, Ibiza (Spain), Cyprus?
THere are two perspectives to this incident:
First of all she broke the law, and deserves to be punished. She can whine about the law all she wants, she decided to move to Dubai, therefore she must respect the law, end of story.
The second angle is...Ok so Dubai, supposedly a Muslim country which values their traditions and culture, allow prostitution and alcohol readily available throughout the Emirate. Not to mention liquor stores outside of Dubai, namely in Ajman, which neighbors Sharjah a more strictly Islamic Emirate.
Basically, this is a city of double standards, they allow one the freedom to practice their religion (Islam), with a readily available option of going to a hotel-bar, having a drink, and meeting a prostitute.
And it's well known. On the other hand, alot of sites are banned by the Emirati ISP Etisalat, because they supposedly do not conform to the morals and values of the United Arab Emirates.
So lemme get this straight, dating sites are blocked...but uh...a five minute drive to the streets of Karama to pick up Chinese hookers is OK?
It's really stupid, either you allow it or you don't.
Personally I could care less, I'm not into prostitution or anything, neither am I the most religious person on Earth...but there are some things which I don't understand about this place.
