Real are going down.

Liverpool-Leverkusen will be close but Pool's quality should see them through in the end. Xabi Alonso and Stevie G will no doubt provide that cutting edge in midfield and if Baros is healthy and on form you guys will have a reliable source of goals upfront. How long is Luis Garcia out for? If he's not back Kewell's participation could be crucial.

good draw for Liverpool when you see the sides we could have faced..........not a really good draw for Juve though.....Real Madrid will be a tough game
ofcourse it won';t be that easy for Juve..but Juve can do it and qualify...that's what i wish and predict

Do not underestimate Leverkusen. Beating Real Madrid is no easy task, and Liverpool does not have a sturdy defense, thats for sure.
Liverpool have a pretty decent defence our problem has been in the full back position not in the centre, Jamie Carragher is now getting the recognition he truly deserves, there are plenty of rumours coming from Italy, that Roberto Mancini is a big admirer of the lad, and in Sammi Hyppia we have class, but the full back positions are a worry, Riise is to attack minded and forgets his defensive duties, Traore is just Traore why do you think we call him Bambi, enough said lol..........on the other side we have FINNAN ALthough i dont rate him highly he has put some decent performance in, as for Josemi well he is just shite, he was at fault for the Portsmouth equaliser not Dudek as some have said, Josemi, has no pace he's wreckless in challenges and was run ragged againt the blueshite(Everton) where a average winger in Kevin Kilbane made Josemi lok even more the shite player than we already knew

Thank God!! I didn't know that before. should be a fun match-but we must win!!
In order to beat Newcastle you guys have got to score goals because your defence won't be able to keep out Kluivert, Bellamy, Robert and co. Newcastle's defence isn't rock solid either though so we could have a high-scoring thriller on our hands.

@LiverpoolUrchin: I know Pool's priority for the January transfer market is a striker but is there any chance that Benitez will be looking at a full back because you're right, Josemi isn't good enough, not for a team that has European ambitions such as Liverpool.

there has been nothing metioned about the full back positions, and there is nothing on the grapevine, claiming we are in the market for a full back, Finnan can do it on the right, but its the left that troubles me, Riise is too much of an attacker which isnt a bad thing, he just neglects his defensive duties, Traore will never be a Liverpool player in my book and Benitez should offload the fool, i cant see Liverpool bringing anyone in really, except maybe a striker or two

So which striker do you want? Morientes' name has been called the most but IMO Anelka and Defoe would be just as good signings.

Thinking about it...it wil be hard to get Mora to Anfield cos he already played in the CL ....while Anelka or Defoe didn't

Baros was excellent throughout with a goal and a nice assist for Mellor, and boy can that Xabi Alonso distribute a ball. His range of passing is superb and he's easily one of the best passers in the Premiership. I wish Juve had someone who could pass as well as Xabi who isn't just a great short passer but an excellent player of long and through balls. He has a decent set piece as well.

We have launched a 3.5 million bid for Morientes. it's good that we are doing something, but there is no way we'll get him for that price!
Great result against Newcastle! I'm glad to hear that Xabi plays so well, Stuart.

Xabi Alonso is a class player. In him and Gerrard Liverpool have two of the best central midfielders in the EPL. As a matter of fact I envy Pool for having Alonso because Juve could really use a player of his stature in midfield next to Emerson.
