I think Liverpool will be hard pressed to replace Smicer and Diouf. When Cisse comes and Owen finds his shooting boots again, i think your goalscoring department will be decent. Smicer and Diouf aren't irreplaceable, but Liverpool don't have enough depth at the memont.
le tallec and sinama pongolle?

at least one of them will come good.

Le Tellec seems to be doing quite well :) nice to have someone who is improving yet will probably stay at the club for a bit.

I think that when Diouf does well, he does excellently, but when hs is shit.....:wallbang: and unfortunately, it's too much of the latter and too little of the former!

Diouf banned for ref blast
Monday, 09 February 2004

Senegal star El Hadji Diouf has been suspended for three matches for attempting to attack the referee during his country's African Cup of Nations defeat to hosts Tunisia.

Diouf's anger at being singled out for rough treatment by the Tunisian defenders spilled over into an outburst at match official Ali Bujsaim.

The Liverpool attacker had to be restrained from the referee at the final whistle, which prompted the tournament's organising committee to review video evidence of the incident.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) confirmed Diouf's three-game punishment which compounds Senegal's misery after their 1-0 reverse to Tunisia in the quarter finals.

Diouf will now miss Senegal's opening three 2006 World Cup qualifiers against Congo, Togo and Zambia which start in June.

The CAF also meted out 12-month suspensions to three Senegal officials who invaded the pitch after Tunisia's goal in the stormy last eight encounter.

Assistant coaches Amara Traore and Abdoulaye Sarr, along with team doctor Fallou Cisse, have all been censured.

Tunisian striker Ziad Jaziri has been fined $500 by the CAF for swearing at the match's general co-ordinator, as he left the field to be substituted.

I totally agree...His place is in the French League...He can't play in the EPL or Serie A..

He's a showy player, and a selfish one too..

I HOPE WE COULD SELL HIM AND BUY SOMEONE LIKE SAMUEL ETO'O

Diouf plays as a right winger with Liverpool,so if Liverpool sell Diouf and get Samuel Eto'o,then they wont have anywone who'll play on the right.

But let me tell you that the original position for Diuof is a striker not a right winger

Eto'o's (whoa) got a bad attitude and temper. I remember he got sent off for one of the stupidest, most blatant retaliation i've ever seen, including Nicky Butt's a couple of seasons ago

Take care of him - he's vital to the operation of the team. The back-line is still in serious doubt - who partners Hyypia - Henchoz or Houllier's favourite donkey, Biscan? Who plays left-back with Riise dropped? The midfield only works when Hamann is there, otherwise that dodgy beack-line creaks apart. Gerard is in fine form, but for how long? Owen is fit, but for how long?

Liverpool defender Igor Biscan's decision to turn his back on Croatia has resulted in a six-month international ban for the 25-year-old.

Biscan walked out on squad before a recent match against Bulgaria and after failing to provide an excuse for his actions, the Croatian Football Association today imposed a lengthy suspension.

However, Biscan is believed to have already told Croatia he no longer wishes to play for the national team.

Ante Tomas, the president of the Croatian FA disciplinary committee, told the daily Vjesnik newspaper: ``Biscan was given the highest possible penalty because he failed to respond to our request that he justify his walkout.''
