If it really is a free loan, then I can't hate this deal. What worries me is that I think it'll be an obligation to buy, not an option. The latter doesn't make much sense from their point of view.

This buy out is frigging ridiculous, how on earth is it right that Southampton stand to make a profit out of this if it were to go all the way, joke of a deal and the guy is a joke of a professional.

its not an obligation to buy but it seems evident that marotta will attempt to buy him in the summer any ways even if it is slightly less than the 18 mill quoted

If you have a player that is on the outside looking in with the caoches and ownership, you probably just want to be rid of him, if even for onoly 6 months. Then they can try again in the summer to sell him

They say it's an option to buy. But even if it is, I think we'll end up buying him, but for less money than being reported.

 5 minutes is all it took to change people's mind. Soren said i made no sense by saying it's a done deal. Conte wants him = unless something unexpected goes wrong, he's ours.

Now IIRC i've seen him playing in a more wing-based role at Roma once or twice, no? and IIRC they had kind of like a 4-3-1-2/4-3-3 with Pjanic doing the Trequartista/false 9 role, Totti to the left and Osvaldo on the right. But maybe it was a one-time thing i can't really remember.
It made no sense saying it was weird loaning him out.

great, im pleased for him
Don't get me wrong, I don't think Osvaldo is a great player or a particularly great signing. But it's not so bad as certain people are making it out to be. I'm kind of indifferent to it. But, he improves our subs a bit, and has potential to be very productive as first sub for Llorente for the next few years. If we were to get him for >15 million in the summer, I'd be happy with that.

Nah, I believe it's an option which we won't take. We will probably try to lower it to 13-14mln depending if Conte wants to keep him or not.

Plus it pisses Tardu and Badass off, what's there not to like. :D

Yeah I get that, but when the rumored fee is in the range of €18/20M, it doesn't make sense. At least U'd try to get what I'd paid for him, not €5M more, if I were THAT desperate to get rid of him.
