Linux Modem (2 Viewers)

I just installed SuSE 10.0 and went and bought an external serial modem just to make my life easier. I managed to get it recognized and dialed to my ISP but sadly I get this message (log file):

What the hell is PAP?? and how could I remedy this guys? Can anybody help me over here?? Thanks in advance:)

    I meant a regular modem that connects to a serial port:D

    Password Authentication Protocol (PAP)

    I had once some modem problem with linux(redhat),

    my advice : google is our friend , used it, you can find linux forums which are useful
