A first half Libertazzi double set the Primavera on their way to a 4-1 home success over a testing Sassuolo outfit. Emmanuello quelled fears of a visitors’ fightback by hitting goal number three, before Margiotta added a fourth in the closing stages.
The Bianconeri started strongly and took the lead after just eleven minutes played. Spinazzola latched onto Gouano’s raking forward pass and found Libertazzi, who made no mistake with a crisp finish into the corner. Margiotta could have made it two midway through the first half, only to see his effort cannon back off the crossbar.
Sassuolo then began to find their rhythm and string together a number of interesting moves. Yet just as the visitors fancied their chances of restoring parity before the break, Libertazzi connected with Spinazzola’s cross and steered a header home to hand the hosts a two-goal cushion.
Baroni’s side were quick off the mark after the interval and had chances to extend their advantage through Bouy and Spinazzola. But the visitors rallied and Conforto’s goal sparked fears of history repeating itself after Sassuolo pegged back a two-goal deficit in this season’s first encounter between the sides.
Emmanuello, however, had other ideas and restored Juve’s supremacy courtesy of a deflected right-footed strike from outside the area. Goal number four soon followed, with Libertazzi again instrumental in proceedings. The striker saw his initial effort blocked by the goalkeeper, only for Margiotta to pop up and sweep home the rebound.
The result sees the Bianconeri maintain their position at the top of the league with a three-point lead over Fiorentina. Today’s win will also serve as an added confidence boost ahead of next Saturday’s derby showdown against inter-city rivals Torino.
