And as for his skills, I’m wondering how would he be in a midfield. Given his passing and ball control, midfield could be a better option.

Does anyone actually expect Bonucci to defend any moderately dangerous cross with his head? I don't. Best we can do is prevent it at source, but we don't really play like that anymore, so they all get exposed.
