If it was anyone else apart from Bonucci there would be complete rejection of his sale. He was our best defender in a season where we won the domestic double and reached the CL final. Yep, sell.

Bonucci has been the best defender in europe this season and you think Rugani will "help soften that blow" leets npt forget Bonucci carried Chiellini as if he were the only cb.
If he had done that consistently for the five years he had been here, I would say it would be difficult to replace, but if after his stellar season last year, it's enough for him to reclaim a spot against the possibility to get Isco, I would disagree.

No I wouldnt swap Bonucci for Isco FFS.

Isco is a great player and would fit into our team nicely, but you guys are making it sound like he is on the same level as Messi FFS.

Bonucci is one of the best CBs in the world, and we aren't obviously selling him anyway.

That's not true. I think anyone in the defence in a 'rumoured' swap deal for a an 'attacking talent' would always be met with greater resignation, than someone in midfield or attack being sacrificed.

Would 30m even be enough for Juve to make a profit on Bonucci after the vast sum they spent on him initially?
Honestly, under the present circumstances, Bonnucci is worth more than 30m. If Ramos is worth, what 50m? And David Luiz is worth 45m? Bonnucci is on par at the very least.

Replace Bonucci with Chiellini in this context and tell me I'm wrong.

If you're suggesting people will always want a good attacker over a good defender then that's obviously because football fans are often quite stupid.

:touched:
That's why we have Marotta dealing in the market and not us (not that it'd matter anyways. The man can't sell for shit :snoop:)

But isn't that true? Attackers are the stars of the game, every other position unfortunately is considered less glamourous and treated like a supporting cast even though it's those positions that are more often than not the positions that keep a game together.

To answer your question about Chiellini, I would make the trade between him and Isco as well. I don't get why Bonucci fans think he is being crucified. Make no mistake, he was one of the most important pieces of the Juve puzzle last season, so I don't think people would blindly trade him as part of just about any move.

This one rumour if it's anywhere close to being true, would be a hard one to miss out on though given how Allegri is setting up the team next season. Rather Bonnucci be sacrificed than Vidal or Pogba in my view, and I say this as a fan of Bon Bon this past season.

11 June 2015:

Leonardo Bonucci is part of Juve's long term plans. Today the bianconeri agreed to an extension with the defender after a two hour meeting with his agent in Milano. Bonucci's new contract expires in 2019 and he'll earn €3.5 million net plus bonuses per season. Bonucci will stay in bianconero longterm.

So I imagine this story will come to a shuddering halt once Bonucci returns from his holiday and actually signs/is offcially announced to have signed.

Is he really? Ramos has always been very underrated on this forum and has the added benefit of scoring quite a few goals. David Luiz is tricky, because either he's the world's best or the world's worst defender. And that can change within a game.

You could make a case for Bonucci being worth at least the same amount of money, but we both know he won't be valued as much.
