This is what I read off of Wikipedia

On the same day that Italy were eliminated from the World Cup, Bari bought the remaining half of Bonucci's registration rights from Genoa for €8M.[15] Co-currently, Bari signed Sergio Bernardo Almirón in co-ownership deal for €2.5M,[16] who already went on loan for the 2009–10 season from Juventus and Genoa bought the remaining 50% rights of Domenico Criscito from Juve for €6M on the next day.[17] Bonucci then went to Turin for a medical,[18] and the 3-way swap was completed on 1 July, which Bonucci cost Juve €15.5M (but in cash plus player deals) and he signed a 5-year deal.[
i dont remember now the sums, we calculated with Alen then, when the deal and info were fresh and in abundance.
The point is that were about to sell those players and their halves anyway.
But instead of making a solid profit and add that to the 15.5 cash we gave for Bonucci and buy a proper CB, worthy of the 20mil price tag,
we have accepted lesser bids, to sweeten the Bonucci deal and secure him for a premium price, he has never going to justify.
So we have lost this money, but not in cash, but as investment.

Back then, losing 5-7 mil and overpaying by 5-10 million was an issue i could hardly tolerated and i fiercely protested.
But after disaster like the Diego, Giovinco and Melo sell outs, this can now be considered as minor mistakes...

Marotta buys high and sells low, a guaranteed receipe for maximum loses in every market and highest proof of incompetence as a trader!
