I have no issue with Bonucci on the goal either, it was a perfect pass that any defender in the world would've struggled with. But it became very difficult to argue that after the match considering the blunder Bonucci did afterwards, the one that resulted in Icardi's glorious opportunity to make it 1-2 when he slid in to score but failed to connect.

Incidentally, I think Bonucci's form has been very good since Juve changed to playing with a back four.

The central defenders have consistently done well to limit the chances the opposition are getting considering the way the rest of the team is routinely leaving them horribly exposed.

It's certainly a far cry from the apocalypse that I was led to believe was sure to follow Juve playing a back four with Bonucci.

Agreed.

Don't get me wrong, he definitely made one huge brainfart last night, but he's just too easy of a scapegoat for Tuzzers when things aren't going well.

What about our midfielders? Where are the fucking goals from Vidal, Marchisio and Pogba lately? We need to create more and score more. That's our main problem these days.

Tevez delivers upfront, but we need the rest to follow suit.

as a sweeper he spent far more time with the ball than he does now. he was even responsible for some creativity in our play. its much easier for him to play now since he doesent have so much pressure on him anymore i think

There are a heap of issues with how Juve's midfield functions (or doesn't function) in the current system.

He's delivering in terms of goals.

However, the system isn't based on Tevez just being a poacher.

His general contribution has not been good recently.

@Red

Do you believe 3-5-2 was the reason why our midfielders were scoring as much as they were?

That particular system forced the opposition to place extra care on our attacking wingbacks (Lichtsteiner and Asamoah) and our strikers the way they were lined up in that system. Is that what eventually enabled our midfield to become the goalscoring machine that it used to be?

For the past 6-7 games, we've created very little, and bar Tevez our other players are really struggling to find the back of the net.

The way Juve set up, whether it was 3-5-2 or not, under Conte was very much focused on getting the midfielders bursting forward.

Even before the change of system, it was apparent that there were changes to the way Juve were looking to play and the way the forwards were operating.

It's all shifted towards a greater level of individualism rather than Conte having lots of pre-planned moves drilled into the players.

Much harder for midfielders to score when there isn't the planning in place to create the space for them or to find them at the end of a move.

And not having the wide players in 4-3-1-2 to stretch a defence out to create the space for the midfielders to dart into may well be a factor.

Makes sense. We do seem to agree that Conte was much better at getting his midfielders to contribute offensively.

For the most part I like how we're playing under Allegri, but this is a key element that he needs to sort out. And fast.

All the more reason why we need a good AM behind the strikers for that link up play and service.

Brilliant .Conte prepared the games way better and that showed results.

If you are set on playing 4-3-1-2 then you certainly need that.

I prefer getting more width into a team so that you don't need to play in as intricate a fashion, so I'd be trying to get a wide player instead of a trequartista.

Atrocious. Almost cost us the game. Both him and Chiellini were absolute $#@!e in the 2nd half.
They were exposed way too much though. In the second half Pirlo looked like he stayed in dressing room while Vidal died by 55th minute. Marchisio was solid but even he made mistakes and Pogba played more advanced. Our midfield was pretty much non-existent and it meant our defenders were in big trouble. Of course both aren't anything special but I think there's a lot of exaggeration when it comes to defense.

This guy should talk less in the media, and he always does it when he sucks and team lose points. He is irritating.
It's cringe worthy really. He makes these ridiculous statements to the media than when it matters the most he cannot put in a decent performance. Needs to stfu and concentrate on his game, which has hit 2010/11 levels of late.

Brilliant.Very accurate. Why you are taking into account the results only the second year in CL under Conte? What about the first when we lost against Bayern after the group stage and beat Chelsea? That same Chelsea ,the champion of Europe ,we played 2-2 away and beat 3-0 at home.
I don't want to mention Serie A statistics.
Take your time to do some statistics in Serie A comparing Conte and Alegri.
Oh ,suddenly you are very quiet about Pereyra.Where is now your favorite player who was "wrongfully" rated as bad just "because of one bad game"?
Maybe major number of Tuz members are just wrong that he is a over payed flop.Yes we don't have the obligation to buy him but that doesn't have anything with the fact that he is a flop.
Anyway,whatever......
