Bonucci has talent, and is still young as we made a significant investment on him I say lets keep him for year or two more. Especially as our priority should be a WC striker. If we can afford a WC striker and a good defender than I am happy to let him go.

he is def. talented but he lacks the brain to become a great defender....
he is good in a 1 on 1 but sometimes his brain/positioning lets him down and his stupid passes.
sometimes it just needs a second of carelessness to concede a goal and he has many of these moments

True, but I think effective coaching over a decent period can rectify those problems.

Let's not forget, he's only 24. CBs generally peak around 27-30. Plenty of time and space for him to improve.

I can see him in black & white for the long haul.

I personally think we should assess his form at the end of the season and not succumb to snap judgements. If he's still making blunders by the end, then I think we should look at our options (Alex, for example) and have Bonucci as a bench option for the 12-13 campaign. He'd be a very good bench option, in fact.

I'd like for us to move for Alex, but I'm also a fan of not abandoning players too quickly. Bonucci had a very assured performance v Udinese. It might be a sign of things to come...

Disagree completely.

He always seemed good at reading the game (rewatch the last game and you'll see who was leading the line in Di Natale's offsides), but just lacked a better physique. He's not too confident when pressed up as well and that may seem he's really bad technically, but that's all about age and confidence imo. His main weakness remains the 1x1.

He shows enough promise to make me wanna keep him, even just as a sub. With more experience we won't see those occasional yet constant fuckups anymore.
