Am I too optimistic if I'm almost looking forward to this?
nah Paredes will free shit up, too bad we loaned out his best backup so we’re gonna be leaning heavily on him to stay fit. Maybe Fagioli gets a look there, it’s not his primary position but he’s played as a regista and can dictate pace better than Loca imo

I think Locatelli is gonna look like he’s had a weight lifted off his shoulders. Probably felt immense pressure as our only real signing that summer, supposed to come in and make our dysfunctional midfield tick. Giving him some freedom and less responsibility to set the tone for the entire game should help a lot. Best part of the Paredes signing imo

He’ll do well here. Not a world beater, not a superstar, but will be the missing piece for the midfield this season. Will allow Locatelli to move forward, can set the tempo for the team and will be comfortable bringing the ball out from the base of the midfield.

Stay injury free (lol) and it’ll all turn out OK for us.

7.5m net salary? Higher than Vlahovic? Wtf is that?

Is this the same Paredes that played for Roma and then went to play in Russian Premier League? Or did they rebuild him in St.Petersburg/Paris and now he's a super hero version of that Paredes? Because the player that I remember was a 1.5m-2.5 midfielder, definitely not a 7.5m one.

In the same summer that we're dying to get rid of Ramsey and Rabiot we're making eerily similar deals with Pogba and Paredes.. Since they're 29 and 28 yo there's a clear suspect who pushed for those deals. :p

Wages have gone under an extreme makeover since those times tho. If you draw a direct comparison to wages back then your result will be flawed. That said i agree that 7,5 is high

i dont think so at all: this has been discussed over and over here the last weeks: the guy is no world beater but will bring important attributes that we miss and help the team.

The skeptisism around here mainly revolves around signing an aging player and contract/wage details: because we dont seem to learn in that sense and seem to show the same patterns that led to the Rabiot/Arthur situation.

No, this is how most Juve fans outside the Tuz Debbie Downer Club feel about it. We are gonna be so much better with this guy

Edit: or did you mean about Dusan scoring more goals? Cos I'm excited about that too
Maybe. Maybe not. It's not a Debbie Downer Club if you highlight his limiations and expect better.

I hope he proves me wrong, but I honestly don't think he's going to be worth the investment and we'll end up struggling to dispose of him.

We haven't really spent any money on our midfield for so long, Locatelli aside. It has remained a neglected part of our squad, despite the fact it's the most important unit. Nonetheless, I remain hopeful because we have Rovella, Miretti and Fagiolo. I just wish we would really spend, for once, to strengthen our midfield.
