nah Paredes will free shit up, too bad we loaned out his best backup so we’re gonna be leaning heavily on him to stay fit. Maybe Fagioli gets a look there, it’s not his primary position but he’s played as a regista and can dictate pace better than Loca imo

His best replacement is Loca. We have no need for Arthur

Wages have gone under an extreme makeover since those times tho. If you draw a direct comparison to wages back then your result will be flawed. That said i agree that 7,5 is high
At those times Paredes was making 0.5m / season. Imo 7.5 is solidly overpaying the guy ~3 times if he's a similar player to what he was in Roma. Dont watch RPL and Ligue 1, so no idea of his progress

I think he will do well, even just tactically it opens things up to have a player who can get on the ball and pass it around/control tempo.

The wages of 7.5m are ridiculous though. I thought we were trimming the wage bill? That should be top player wages. It is a bit concerning after an injury hit season and he has potential to be an expensive player we can't shift if he can't stay fit/doesn't perform.

7.5m net salary? Higher than Vlahovic? Wtf is that?

Is this the same Paredes that played for Roma and then went to play in Russian Premier League? Or did they rebuild him in St.Petersburg/Paris and now he's a super hero version of that Paredes? Because the player that I remember was a 1.5m-2.5 midfielder, definitely not a 7.5m one.

In the same summer that we're dying to get rid of Ramsey and Rabiot we're making eerily similar deals with Pogba and Paredes.. Since they're 29 and 28 yo there's a clear suspect who pushed for those deals. :p
€2.5m is less than Rugani earns, that's wishful thinking.

Also think he's another who benefits from the Growth Decree.

I think Locatelli is gonna look like he’s had a weight lifted off his shoulders. Probably felt immense pressure as our only real signing that summer, supposed to come in and make our dysfunctional midfield tick. Giving him some freedom and less responsibility to set the tone for the entire game should help a lot. Best part of the Paredes signing imo
Locatelli can definitely ball going forward if he as capable mids at the base of midfield. We saw this at the Euros.

Nah. 2.5-3 mil are Rugani-MdS type bench players. Paredes is a 4-5 mil player. We’re paying him far too much at 7+ mil, but hardly 3 times to much.

We’ve trimmed it down from 160 net to 100 net.

Rugani is grossly overpaid.

MDS renewed at 1.5m. Kostic signed for 2.5m this summer. Zakaria as free agent for 3m this winter. Locatelli signed for 2.5m or 3m (depends on source) last summer. Salaries for some of best mids in Serie A: Barella 5m, Brozovic 6m, L.Pellegrini 4m, Zaniolo 2.5m, SMS 3.2m, L.Alberto 2.5. Since Paredes imo probably wont register among best mids in the league (I dont know that much about him since his Roma days, maybe Im wrong) and he's not coming as a free agent, I think 2.5m is fair, yes. I know some believe you have to pay the same players more in Juventus than in Roma or Lazio. I think its retarded, should work the other way, chance at a trophy should count as added incentive.

Are we sure we pay him 7.5m? Maybe some of it is bonuses?
It’s slightly inaccurate as he only costs us 9.17 or something gross due to that foreign player tax rule or whatever it is. So he’s only like the 8th-10th most expensive player for the club, which seems fairly reasonable.

@Strickland is grossly undervaluing him and completely ignoring the tax rule which has him on ~9.17 gross. He’s also comparing him to young players who haven’t made moves to big clubs and signed big contract increases yet.

foreign tax rule applies if its at least 2 years deal if we wont buy him he wont benefit from it at all.

We will buy him even if he sucks. The only scenario where we don't buy him is if he gets a season ending injury.

I don't think he will suck btw. At worst, he will be an okay-ish signing for us.
hope so, he seems to be exactly the player Allegri wants at regista - great passing skills, quite good at pressing resistance, not really keen on going forward and keeps his psition all the time.
