If there is any player I would not like to see at Juventus, that is Riquelme.

I would love to see Chevanton in Juventus as a 3rd or 4th striker. He is very good and Sevilla don´t appreciate him very much. He wouldn´t be expensive and he has Serie A experience.

Chevanton > Iaquinta
Yeah, what's this obsession with Riquelme? He's average at best and is just about the biggest choker on the international scene. He would have been absolutely useless.

Roma grab Bogdani
Friday 31 August, 2007
It’s reported Roma have snapped up Chievo hitman Erjon Bogdani in the final minutes of the transfer window.

The Albanian striker had been linked with a number of clubs over the summer, including Cagliari, Parma and Lazio, but 'Controcampo’ claim this evening that the Giallorossi have pipped them to the post.

Director general Daniele Pradè began and concluded intense negotiations remarkably quickly, agreeing a £2.7m transfer.

Bogdani is a 30-year-old with a lot of experience in Serie A, having arrived in Italy with Reggina in January 2000.

He also played for Salernitana, Verona, Siena and Chievo, last term netting seven goals in 34 appearances between the last two sides.

The rapport between the clubs was already strong after Roma handed promising midfielder Aleandro Rosi to the Flying Donkeys on loan this week.

Chievo already have Bogdani’s replacement lined up, as they are making a £1m swoop for Genoa’s Mirco Gasparetto.

In other transfer shorts, after snapping up Alvaro Recoba on loan from Inter, Torino have also taken 22-year-old defender Paolo Hernan Dellafiore in a temporary switch from Palermo.

The Rosanero have signed Catania midfielder Fabio Caserta in a deal worth £2.4m and a three-year contract.

Livorno strengthened their midfield with Daniele De Vezze in a permanent move from Messina.

    Livorno poach Bogdani off Roma!
    Friday 31 August, 2007

Just hours after Roma agreed terms for a transfer, Erjon Bogdani has turned down a move, preferring Livorno!

“I am looking for a side that will let me play regular first team football, but at Roma I would have only been on the bench,” said the Albanian striker.

Chievo had already worked out all the details of his £2.7m transfer, but at the last moment Bogdani rejected the Giallorossi.

He had also been linked with Cagliari, Parma and Lazio over the last few days, but he has now officially finalised a switch to Livorno instead.

The deal is a loan with an option to buy for a fixed price at the end of the season.

Livorno were on the look-out for a big centre-forward to replace Cristiano Lucarelli – now at Champions League club Shakhtar Donetsk.

Francesco Tavano and Diego Tristan have both disappointed so far this season, so just before the transfer window closed they swooped for Bogdani.

Livorno have also snapped up Roma winger Edgar Anthony Reyes Alvarez, who spent last season at Messina.

Meanwhile, Chievo have officially parted with defender Lorenzo D’Anna after 13 years at the club. He has decided to continue his long career at Piacenza.

Last Minute Serie A Transfer Round Up

At 19:00 the summer transfer window was closed in Italy, and there were a number of interesting last-minute deals struck just before the deadline...

Now it's finally finished. The transfer window in Italy is closed until January: the teams will have to make do with what they have. On the final day of the summer transfer period, the biggest coups took place in the morning, with Torino's double purchase of Hernan Dellafiore and Alvaro Recoba from Inter, and Fabio Caserta's passage from Catania to Palermo. In the afternoon, Livorno and Parma signed strikers Erjon Bogdani and Bernardo Corradi, respectively.

Genoa saw a lot of players exit, while Atalanta there were those who left (Adriano to Monaco) and those who came (Belleri from Lazio). Here are the most important last-minute moves in the Italian transfer window that took place today:

Alvaro Recoba from Inter to Torino
Hernan Dellafiore from Palermo to Torino
Fabio Caserta from Catania to Palermo
Bernardo Corradi from Manchester City to Parma
    Mariga from Helsingborgs to Parma
Erjon Bogdani from Chievo to Livorno
Daniele De Vezze from Messina to Livorno
Edgar Alvarez from Roma to Livorno
    Adailton from Genoa to Bologna
Mirco Gasparetto from Genoa to Chievo
Gianluca Pegolo from Genoa to Mantova
Gabriele Cioffi from Torino to Ascoli
Manuel Belleri from Lazio to Atalanta
Angelo Ogbonna from Torino to Crotone
    Adriano from Atalanta to Monaco
Mattia Biso from Catania to Spezia

Even if he is average(which I am not agreed) he's still better than Tiago and with the cash we paid for Tiago we could have grabbed Riquelme.

As for being chocker,he was one of the better Argentinian players in Coppa America (except for the final match where the whole team sucked).

    Glen Johnson to Portsmouth
    Dejan Stefanovic to Fulham
    Alvaro Recoba loaned to Torino
Curtis Davies loaned to Aston Villa
    Amdy Faye to Rangers
    No new goalkeeper for lazio
    Patrick Kluivert to Lille
    Thomas Gravesen loaned to Everton
    Bah,he's still alive?
