Roma grab Bogdani
Friday 31 August, 2007
It’s reported Roma have snapped up Chievo hitman Erjon Bogdani in the final minutes of the transfer window.
The Albanian striker had been linked with a number of clubs over the summer, including Cagliari, Parma and Lazio, but 'Controcampo’ claim this evening that the Giallorossi have pipped them to the post.
Director general Daniele Pradè began and concluded intense negotiations remarkably quickly, agreeing a £2.7m transfer.
Bogdani is a 30-year-old with a lot of experience in Serie A, having arrived in Italy with Reggina in January 2000.
He also played for Salernitana, Verona, Siena and Chievo, last term netting seven goals in 34 appearances between the last two sides.
The rapport between the clubs was already strong after Roma handed promising midfielder Aleandro Rosi to the Flying Donkeys on loan this week.
Chievo already have Bogdani’s replacement lined up, as they are making a £1m swoop for Genoa’s Mirco Gasparetto.
In other transfer shorts, after snapping up Alvaro Recoba on loan from Inter, Torino have also taken 22-year-old defender Paolo Hernan Dellafiore in a temporary switch from Palermo.
The Rosanero have signed Catania midfielder Fabio Caserta in a deal worth £2.4m and a three-year contract.
Livorno strengthened their midfield with Daniele De Vezze in a permanent move from Messina.
