If you were looking for someone creative in the midfield, Lampard is not the answer.. I don`t think that he could play that role. all he can do is cut the ball and shoot it on the target whether the ball ended up inside the net or not. also, the English football is different than the Italian. what we need is someone like Ribery (as you mentioned) or Diego
You're talking as if we're getting either Ribery or Diego.

Surprise...surprise, we won't snap neither Ribery nor Diego nor Lampard.

And another thing, the best midfielder we'll get this summer won't be half Lampard's class.

Hit that nail right on the head. Hard too.

realistic but you can hope and dream
and i woudlnt call sissoko half lampards class, hes almost up there
provided we do sign him
First of all, Sissoko's position differs from Lampard's. The former is a pure destroyer, while the latter is a centre midfielder who shares in defending as well as attacking and he is the one who balances the team. Even though, Sissoko needs years to prove that he is a world class defensive midfielder, whereas Lampard is already a top centre midfielder. Actually, I can't as well say that Sissoko isn't half Lampard's class, but I prefer to say he's expected to be from the best destroyers.

I don`t think that Lampard is a world class midfielder! yeah, he`s doing a good job at Chelsea, but he`s not a magical!! look how does he play for the English team! and how bad he was at the world cup!
I see Gerrard is better than him, when it comes to skills and personalty.. at least Gerrard is a leader in Liverpool. I`m not saying that I want Juve to buy Gerrard.. `cause like I`ve mentioned before that I don`t perfer an English player to play for us :confused2

I dont know if that is the case that he is the second best player in England. I think he isnt the best midfielder on his team. Robben is better if he is healthy and also essien might be just as good but its hard to compare bc they all play diff roles.

Lampard is Chelsea's best midfielder next to Essien. He is also their most instumental midfielder of the last 3 seasons (honourable mention to Makalele)

Do you honestly think Chelsea would have won anything in the last 2 years had it not been for Lampard's 20 plus goals? Because Drogba, Kezman and Crespo were crap and Lampard was their highest goalscorer. plus he broke the record of goals scored by a midfielder last season (16 goals in the league I think)

yet people want to go on about how he is not world class:disagree:

He is definatley world class
He is world class but he needs a specific set up for him to be effective. Like he gets at Chelsea, with Makelele he needs to have a holding midfielder behind him so that he doesn't need to think too much about defending.

With England he plays beside Gerrard who also wants to go forward so Lampard must be more defensively aware which takes away from his attacking ability. If Englan were to play Hargreaves and Lampard in the centre, I believe he would be good for England as well.
