could Juve afford his wages? Maybe but I don't think he should get more than DP' Pavel and Gigi.
His ask for bigger wages si matter of principality (IMO) and I tottaly understand him. Lampard and Terry are the most important players in the Chelsea especially the latter, and they earn less than Ballack and Sheva and they sucks at Chlesea. I don't think he will ask for the same wages he wants at Chelsea.

And who are those players?

Almiron?
Maresca?
Sissoko?

Lampard is easily the best avaiable midfield player out there right now.
If were going to pay some1 100,000 a week, I expect alot better than Lampard.

And yes, Almiron is 1 player I would choose over him, if were looking for a cm. He wouldn't put a dent in our wage budget, is already accustomed to serie a, and will only get better.

Not to mention our priority should be some1 who can bully the midfield, not a Lampard type player.

you expect better than a midfielder that scores as much goals as almost a top class striker does? Lampard would be great. He's a hard worker, and he has a fantastic ability to score goals (albeit with luck, but who cares? goals are goals) and having a player like him means that in the slight chance that our strikers underperform, we have a super midifleder that can score a alot of goals.

However if he were to come then we would need a hard working DMF to cover for him since he is not defensively capable. Lampard-Sissoko, Lampard-Gilberto would be a great partnership.

edit: and who ever said Xabi alonso is available? He won't leave Liverpool. How the hell have people decided that he is available all of a sudden?

Lampard is a good player, but not a world class one, which is where u pay 100,000 a week for.

If were shopping in England, Id much rather we sign a player like Gilberto than Lampard. Sissoko would be ok as well, but Gilberto is more experiened and can pass a ball more than 5 yards.

First, yes we are Juve but we are a Juve without European football so it would be very difficult fot us to get any of the regulars in teams playing in the Champions league say.

Second, Lampard has barca chasing him

Third, Lampard's technique is average and who knows which way his shots are gonna be deflected once in Serie A.

Fourth, he's not worth the wages since we already have DP as a freekick specialist that is a thousand times better. So there goes 3/4 of what he would bring to the team.

Secco this rumor better not be real :disagree:

And i thought, Juve fans were smarter than those naive Milan fans that are still dreaming they r getting Ronaldinho+Chivu+Sheva+Zambro+Buffon...

That article is 3 months old... a few things have changed since then, namely his contract negotiations with Chelsea, and our management situation.
Well spotted.

The reason that Lampard appears to be leaving is that he seems to feel under-valued. This means if we pay him what he wants and convince him of his impotance to our new Juve, he might just come.

Still more likely he will go to Spain if he leaves.

I smell bust in Serie A for Frank Lampard. Put him into tactical Serie A system, then you will find Lampard makes less run into the box, which naturally means less goals. The fact is Lampard is more closer to forward than midfield in terms of contributions are concerned just as one should regard Kaka.

Beside this team probably needs some proven distributor in the team since neither Camoranesi, Nedved, Zanetti are capable of dictating the tempo of the game.

Take away the monetary issue, I don't see a very good fit between Lampard and Juve. I say pass.

You've got a good point here. There is a huge difference between english football and calcio, which means Lamps might not be able to do his defensive duties up to a certain level which is required in Serie A.

I have to disagree with you on this one. Camoranesi and Nedved are both explosive players. They may not be on their A-game each game (Nedved's is understandable due to his age) but when they do, they dictate the tempo of the game. Zanetti - he's only 2nd class.

Although I am a huge fan of Lampard's talent, I have to agree that it will cost us a lot of money to get his signature. Add to the fact that what we've said above is no secret to Lampard, I'm sure he'll pretty much admit it won't be as easy for him to move to Serie A where it's more technical.

Sad to day, even if I'm sure he won't come to Turin, I'm still wishing he will. Why? The best solution would be to have a very strong defensive midfielder alongside Lampard. Someone in the calibre of Edgard Davids at his peak. If we can find someone like him to partner Lampard, then maybe we can pull this off.
