Omg lampard is the most overrated midfielder in the game, hes average at best and all his goals are deflections, didnt he have something like 30 shots at the world cup and missed them all?

i thought joe cole got injured for around 2 months in some friendly match, shouldn't he be back?

is he injured once again?
im not 100% sure if its a diff injury or still the same re occuring one but mourinho said in his own words "joe cole will be out for forever" roughly translated into a real language and not mourinho speak i think that means he'll be out for the season :( such an entertaining player to watch its a shame :(

Juve & Inter monitor Lampard Tuesday 23 January, 2007

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There are conflicting reports over the future of Chelsea ace Frank Lampard after he was linked with a move to Italy.

The 28-year-old is contracted to the Blues until June 2009, but he has not yet renewed his deal which fuelled speculation that he might become a target for Italian clubs.

The Tuttosport newspaper claims that Juventus may be keen on making a bid, while the Corriere dello Sport suggested Inter were monitoring his situation after comments attributed to his agent.

“He has two years left on his deal and it’s down to chief executive Peter Kenyon to talk to me, which I'm happy to do,” said Steve Kutner to the Guardian.

“If he wants to leave he could although that is nowhere near his mind at the moment. In any case, a new deal is still a long way off.”

Kutner’s words were interpreted as an open door for Juventus, who are currently looking to strengthen their midfield.

Lampard has therefore been added to a shortlist which already includes Maniche of Atletico Madrid, Torsten Frings of Werder Bremen and former Bianconero Emerson at Real Madrid.

However, another agent has insisted that Lampard – who joined Chelsea in the summer of 2001 from West Ham – will not leave the London club.

“I have read the papers, but the reports are groundless,” said Franco Granello to news agency GRT.

“Lampard has a huge contract with Chelsea and is fine there. There is no possibility that he will leave England and I’m 99 per cent sure that he will stay with Chelsea.”

It's funny how some people become so impatient over reported transfer targets. Perhaps the best idea is to not read such rumours to avoid having a heartattack.
I honestly stopped reading transfer news in general sometime ago...I will not believe that a player will be joining a team until I see the official press conference with the player holding the jersey...and in some rare cases, until I see him on the pitch (read Figo-Ittihad fiasco)

i prefer him than gerrard why?
he can defend better than gerrard(gerrard commits crimes in the deffensive situations specially with Henry in the pl and EURO2004),he is more agressive than gerrard,he is a good playmaker (but gerrard is in the same rank), he is a good shooter from both far and short distances (gerrard is better in the far ditance) ,both of them got a high stamina and finally he is got a talent in the free kicks curling (more than gerrard)
