my brother is visiting and with him we usually watch spanish football. it was real's cup match last night and once again bellingham looked like shit. he came on for the extra time, against a tired, inferior team and still looked meh. obviously very talented, but world class players are supposed to be more consistent. :boh: what's the tuz consensus about him?

He's been playing pro since he was 16 so I've always wondered how long he will stay at an elite level. Other English players who started so early who spring to mind are Owen, who was basically finished at the top level at 25 (mostly due to injuries). Rooney's last great season he was about 27, but he carried on being a good player for a while after.

Assuming he doesn't get any significant injuries, I think a lot of this is down to how much hunger he has. When you win it all by 20 then you've got to set your own motivations. He's a pretty arrogant guy so I'd say he will do well. He might not have many seasons like 2023-24 as players get more familiar with him, but should still be one of the best AMs.

His role has changed as well, though. He was playing in the hole behind the two strikers, now with Mbappe he's forced to play a little deeper, especially without Kroos. Now he doesn't make as many late runs into the box.

Mbappe has messed a few things up for them. If they really had to sign someone they should have gone for Kane instead and kept everyone else where they were.

I was watching Barca Valencia game yesterday, im usually a neutral fan, maybe even more on Barca side, because some of my compatriots are playing there, but damn, we can bitch all we want on Italian refs, but the spanish are on completely different level.
I actually turned off the stream after seeing this bullshit.
First he denies a clear pen for Valencia, then minutes later awards the pen just to deny it after VAR review because they saw a fould in a build up to it.
No matter that after the foul, Barca was actually in a possesion for a second and also the foul itself was questionable for me.
I mean Barca won 7:1 in the end so maybe it didn't matter at all, but this kind of refereeing is just bonkers.
