I will keep arguing that in better defensive era's, basically everyone before this shit, Messi would have been considerably less effective, where as Ronaldo's ridiculous ability to score would have been a great danger.

He's not gonna make those chances himself. But get the ball there and he'll deliver

Yeah. You'll keep arguing because it's bullshit. Football is considerably faster paced and tougher than it ever has been. Ronaldo AND Messi would be even more unstoppable in the 90's.

The reason you like it less is because it's like tennis, once it's too fast it becomes less interesting. Good football is becoming boring football.

But make no mistake, this Juve would beat 1998 Juve with a 5 goal margin.

What you says applies to the EPL.

Tougher ? Where does that come from. Football was never as weak as today. 70% of the tackles back than are fouls today and most are direct yellows. hence, the scissor kicks and lunging step out front tackles are red cards if they arent intended for the ball.

Pace ? Monaco had pace. Didnt do shit. Counters ? We invented it.

Modern football got stamina. Thats it.

1998 Had plenty of stamina thanks to Dr. Agricola

Ramos is a cunt. The piece of shit made cuadrado get sent off in the final as well. Definetly one of, if not the the biggest cunts in football.

Modern football got stamina and thats it? Come on, the tempo and pace in nearly all sides in todays game is way higher. Its not even close. They are considerably more athletic then ever.

Real are better and it's not even close.
Ok, that's pushing it. 2013 Bayern was a fuckin machine. By far most deserving CL winner in recent history.

Players today are just a lot better than players 20 years ago. And that makes total sense. Everything in the game evolves to a higher standard.

They are better athletes, but not better players. They have more stamina, pace, and follow stricter diets, but in terms of finesse, beauty, elegance, creativity, and talent, there were better players 20 years ago. Zidane, Baggio, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Del Piero, etc... Currently, we only have guys like Neymar, Messi, and Ronaldo to provide that spark, that moment of magic.

Stats are better but creativity is down to shit (since Ronaldinho),
ie.
DP had a million ways to kick a freekick, and he scored in every way possible (inside of the foot, outside of the foot, around the wall, under the wall, through the wall (lol), far corner, close corner). The GK didn't know wtf to expect. Players nowadays use just one technique.
