btw.

Moggi revealed that Cristiano Ronaldo was ours before he went to ManU.

C. Ronaldo agreed on the deal, and both clubs also, including a swap of Salas. But that mofo Salas refused to leave, and we lost Cristiano to manU...
Thank you, Salas!

Salas surely did us a favour, preventing Cristano Ronaldo coming to Juve.

Anyway, i'm still ecstatic about signing Marchionni. One of my non-favourite juve players, now a juve player :). Come to think of it, I think he is kind of a Lippi-type signing.

Marchionni opts for Juve
Tuesday 17 January, 2006
Marco Marchionni has decided to join Juventus in the summer ahead of a number of other chasing clubs, according to reports in Italy.

The Parma winger has been courted by a whole host of outfits interested in acquiring his services at the end of the season, particularly with the 25-year-old available on a free transfer in June.

But Juventus are reported by numerous Italian dailies today to have pipped Inter, Milan, Fiorentina and Liverpool to the post for the quicksilver wide man, who is thought to have chosen the Bianconeri for tactical rather than economical reasons.

Marchionni, who can play on either wing or up front, is seen as cover on both flanks for Mauro Camoranesi and Pavel Nedved, with the 33-year-old Czech international coming towards the end of his career and seemingly the player most likely to make way for the ex-Empoli man.

It’s believed that the former Under-21 international, who was once touted for great things, will sign a five-year contract with the Stadio Delle Alpi boys.

The news is yet another scalp for director general Luciano Moggi, who has forged a reputation for procuring quality players on free contracts and will have been disappointed at failing to lure defender Willy Sagnol away from Bayern Munich this week.

He will be sub and possibly future replacement for Camoranesi. I'm very happy with this transfer, especially because we won't spend a cent on it!

Cristiano Ronaldo still has a lot to learn but you can't deny that he's one of the most talented wingers in football today. He has the potential to be a world beating winger and at a club like Juve his negative traits could be ironed out.

I too am estatic about Marchionni joining Juve. I've been a fan of his for some time now and I'm sure he'll make an excellent signing.

Totally agree with you there Stuart.

Juve would of made a truly world class winger out of Ronaldo.

Yeah but remember that Juve love to send young & talented players on loan!
And what happens when they go on loan 90% of the time? They dont come back!
Utd suits ronaldo nicely cause they are willing to give the youngsters a go!

Marchionni is a more than adequate signing, in fact his gameplay has gon up a notch for the last 2 seasons!:agree:

I can deny that actually. Cristiano's potential is overrated as well, everything about him simply annoys me. His hype is what made him a star player in the first place, not his skills.

Juve can certainly ignore a player like Cristiano Ronaldo. Especially as we've signed Macrchionni too now, who we both like luckily.

how sure is it that we've signed him?

and I read he could play on the left too, to alternate with Pavel? Or is he exclusively a right winger?
