This may have been posted but an interesting read

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...Maurizio-Sarri.html?ito=amp_twitter_share-to‬

Marginalised players, lack of desire to promote the club, poor uptake of media commitments, inflexible training methods, smoking habit, lack of connection to the fans, lack of understanding of club and player culture (not bringing Cahill on during the EL final when 4-1 up for what would have been his last appearance).

This just seems like everything we don’t want to represent our brand...
And still he managed to overperform with the club....

Do you really consider him to have over performed?

They finished in 3rd position, 26 points behind the champions and 25 behind 2nd. Tottenham stopped playing as soon as they had qualified and picked up a couple of points in the run in, Arsenal fell apart and Man U also stopped playing. That isn't a success it's just not being as terrible as arsenal and united.
They won an EL where they were clearly the strongest team and had a very easy passageway.
The Cabrao cup is not important
They got kicked out of the FA cup in the 5th round

They also suffered 2 of the worst defeats in the clubs history; 6-0 against city & 4-0 against Bournemouth - I'm not saying Sarri is the devil and a terrible manager but let's not pretend he's over performed.

They should have qualified for the CL at a canter not on match day 37

You can probably say that based on his objectives. We can agree that the premier league was never in question.
So that remains el fa cup and league cup and top 4 finish.
3rd premier league
El win
Fa cup final (lost on penalties ) to a better man city
League cup 5th round - disappointing.
In my opinion he managed to do good with what he had, but the few Chelsea matches I watched were far from entertaining and pretty boring.

Considering the squad, new manger , new league i think he overperformed yes. Individual matches and other teams fuckups doesnt matter. He got the maximum RESULTS in the end, and thats all that matters. Given better players and more time, he would be able to compete with top two, but this year? Not even a chance in hell

Each to their own.

I don't think he did a bad job, I just think it was a pretty mediocre season for Chelsea. Historically their managers overperform in their first seasons. When you compare his first season to conte, ancelotti, Mou x2, hiddink, di matteo etc it starts to look quite ordinary.

Most Chelsea managers manage to at least not lose the dressing room until half way through the second season haha

Man City and Liverpool both almost got 100pts so your difference statement is invalid.
As for EL - They were one of the strongest but I wouldnt say a clear favorite..
Napoli is as strong as Chelsea

Lampard stalls Sarri to Juve?
Football Italia

Chelsea could further stall Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus appointment after reports Derby County have offered Frank Lampard a new contract.
The situation has been dragging on for a month now and Juve cannot formally hire Sarri until he has terminated his existing contract by mutual consent.
That is proving to be a lot more difficult than anyone anticipated, with Italian reports claiming Chelsea will release him for £1.1m in compensation, whereas English sources put it anywhere from £5-10m.

A two-year contract with option for a third is all ready for Sarri at Juve, worth €6m per season.
Now another problem has emerged, as The Telegraph newspaper claims Derby County have offered a new deal to Coach Lampard, who is the number one choice to replace Sarri.
If the Stamford Bridge giants are unable to find a suitable heir, they may well try to keep hold of Sarri.
After all, he had originally requested an exit in March when fans were constantly insulting him, although some of them have since come round after he took them to third place in the Premier League and to victory in the Europa League.
There also remain a few absolutely adamant Italian reporters who maintain the next Juventus boss will be Pep Guardiola, despite him pledging his commitment to Manchester City.

Lmao we are going to believe that crappy report? And if true we are the most stupid club, we released our coach because probably Mr. Nedved didn't like him and we have no replacement line up? Ohh boy we gonna beg Allegri...
