Why he's never the same and I don't think he will ever be that player
He certainly had the talent. I'd go as far as to say he was the best Winger in Serie A in the first half of that season. Was doing a superb job both offensively and defensively. Came back and haven't really been anything special in anything he does. I don't know, it could be anything, personal problems..who knows.

That assist shows what he could do if he just took on his defender. He is so fast but always in two minds whenever he thinks about dribbling. Just beat the defender with pace goddammit, it doesn't have to be a clean dribble.
hmm interesting, he is also has good body balance

I have another theory.

That's the whole thing though, he beats his defender once in a blue moon.
That is what happens when you play a player out of position , he scores and dribbles is designed for playing in the middle. That is where he excels , but since conte is interested in keeping him on the wings , Juve fans will always see his bst at 50percent. And why are you guys Bashing the African cup of Nations, do you think udinese would have recognized him if the african cup , had not given him the pedestal to display his talent. You guys act like you knew him before he came to juventus.

He is not a winger and when he was first deployed there his moves were of a surprise to the entire league. Slowly everyone on earth understood them and they became the most predictable efforts to be ever used on a football pitch. African cup or not, he is not a winger and his assists and goals at the beginning of the season were mainly because of the element of surprise. He's been read ever since.

Marotta failing to land that LB after 3 years under Conte is just a fail. I thought this season he was going to be used as a CM sadly not the case. I still think he can do a lot better on the wing even though he is not a natural wide player. He proved it with the assist that he can cause defenders a bit if trouble.

Read my comment a few posts back, he beats his man once in a blue moon. Then again, it's not that he delivered a 100% goal, Vidal had to work to put the ball past Handanovic.
Yep, true that. All of it. Me, personally, loves to have him in the team primarily for his defensive work. There's no denying he generally offers far too little, offensively. It's not like it doesn't happen, but I do realize you know that.

Conte's 3-5-2 is made for wingers who can attack way more consistenly than Asa, but in terms of who we have at our disposal in the current squad, I'm glad he is one of our more certain starters.

Actually his defending is good but recently he's being left out of position several times during the games leaving a huge space behind him that the opposition have been taking well good care of.

Yeah, but that's bound to happen a few times, no matter who plays back. Even the very best in the game have such lapses. It's a very difficult position to play in, one which is constantly under attack, since most teams like to attack from the wing. But generally he does very well defensively, I think we both can agree on that.

But it is bound to happen when you are contributing to the forward play. When you are defending the flank because that's the best you can do then leaving big space is just making you lose your position more and more.

But he does go forward, though. Not as much as Licht, but he does. The Conte wingbacks are required to. He's just not very good at it :D

And those are the (few) times he does get caught out, when he's a bit further up on the field.

He goes forward and contributes to nothing (ok, today he managed) but usually he doesn't. Actually most of the time he loses the ball.

It's frustrating to watch him attack alot of times, I do agree. But what he brings to the table, overall, when all of his attributes (particularly the defensive ones) and grinta is taken into consideration, I do value him as an important first team player. But yeah, the attacking does get annoying. We have no better alternatives for LWB than Asamoah, though. He's by far the best player we can put there.

And you know that "cutting inside" thing he does? His success-rate with that move isn't all too bad. I haven't seen Peluso succeed with that even once.
