A wingback should however, be able to cross and beat his man every once in a while. Asamoah is a beast. He is fast, physical, and a solid defender, but going forward he is incredibly limited and average.

$#@! statistics anyway. Let's assume a player scores 18 goals in a season, but those 18 goals are scored in 12 games. What the $#@! was he doing in the other 26 games then? Stats can be misleading.
No sir he is average compared to a winger not an LWB. When we play a top team, he is up against top midfielders and top wingers and so naturally he becomes a lot busier defending than attacking. The LWB role in a 3-5-2 needs him to run up and down the pitch, winning the ball in the defensive phase and stretching the defense to create space for our CMs to exploit in the middle. Asa is not the type of player that would concentrate all his goals and assists in a handful of games and then be mediocre for the remainder of the season. His numbers are divided over a vast number of games and the same applies to licht.

You guys are expecting a lot offensively from a defensive role even if we had marcelo, we shouldnt expect better numbers than Asa and licht provide. If you want a real and consistent goal or creative threat from wide then use real wingers not wingbacks. A wingback will never be as talented going forward as a real winger. You need a gareth bale there to have a guy who can consistently beat his man and make incredible crosses. Again, Marcelo and Alves have around the same output that our guys do. They have much higher flair in doing so but the work ethic of our lads always makes up for it.

This is a classic case of a runner VS a flair player comparison. People hated Dirk Kuyt for instance when the man consistently scored double figures every season and tracked back a lot. Everyone prefers a Nani type player that does very little but in style and with flair. Kuyt was in my opinion a very good player to have despite his inability to dribble or to create something beautiful.

The 3-5-2 has its limitations out wide. The main source of creativity is the CM and the SS. The wide guys just keep running to stretch defenses. If we are going to become more attacking we will need to switch formations or have some incredible suarez type striker that can score goals out of nothing.

So now we're selling Asamoah too?

Kojo stays. He can play LWB, LB and CM and he's very useful but also relatively young. We're very thin at the LWB/LB position. He's not that good going forward that's why I don't think we should carry on with the 352 (same thing with Licht) but he's good enough at defending so he could play as fullback n a back 4 without problems (same thing with Licht).

He can play just CM or LB (lack of options). He's not good enough for LWB just like Licht for RWB.

Max is retarded he's still sticking to 352 with these guys on the wings. It seems Conte saw it coming so he wanted to make a change...
