Two goals in the final few months of the season including the crucial winner against Fiorentina, more than double the tackling average and more clearances than Lichsteiner and again higher than another highly rated left wing back in David Alaba. Although I will admit he had less assists than Lichsteiner but he is more defensive minded. I am not a huge fan of statistics though, as they often don't give the true story.

He was incredibly consistent in the second half of last season and the progression he has made over the past few seasons has been great.

He's been great and incredibly consistent, but to say he was our best player is stretching it too far.

He is so much better than Evra as a WB... it's not even close.

I know Evra is expensive, he has the name and all... but Asamoah should be the starter in games that really count.

Evra should not have started against Atletico, this was a clear mistake by Allegri, even before the game start I was hoping that Asamoah could start.

Evra can be a very reliable LB, but that's all he has to offer now.

Asamoah to start in 352 in games that really count, please.

In the end, both of them do not offer us anything offensively speaking. Its the same to use any of them for me.
They give good coverage, they run run run... but well... all muscle in the end.
