Bargain shopping already

Release clause is a steal. Now if we sign Romagnoli or Romero (hopefully the former) we should be good to go in that department.
No need for Romagnoli after Manolas

He's not worth the fuss for what Milan will be asking which would €70M-ish I suppose.

If we have to buy any top CB within Serie A, it should be either Skriniar or Koulibaly. They are the ideal replacements for Chiellini. Strong, fast, physically imposing, not frail jabroni's like Romagnoli.

But for now Manolas would do since midfield is the immediate priority.

like our cb situation wasn't an "immediate priority". just look at our matches without chiellini. he's 34, soon retiring, injury prone, and without him, our defense is fragile. we had 24 clean sheets all season, only 2 without chiello. we lost 7 matches all season, and he only played against man.utd and atleti. (he started against atalanta too, but got injured at 0-0 and we conceded 3 without him.)

we need both a starter level cb and cm, both are just as important as the other.

Manolas is a good defender and has a lot of grinta in him.
I'd like us to sell one of bonucci and rugani and sign another cb though.

Lets offer big for De Ligt, he said he think he would cost less than De Jong so I guess 80m would be enough

I would even sell anyone in our squad bar CR7 to fund him

At the end I know It's gonna be something like Manolas+Romero but Fabio should bet big for future aswel

I agree, we need a lot of reinforcements and if we can get Manolas for a bargain it would allow us to spend more elsewhere in midfield.

Manolas > Romagnoli .

R13 it's overrated asf , he won't ever reach Chiellini's level , he is overrated because he is italian , he isn't worth nothing more than 50m .

I hope it’s a done deal but we are just keeping a low profile.. Best value for money long term defensive addition available, and even though it’s not a big achievement but he had a good game against us.

Wouldn't say a backup. Chiellini is 35 and I can see him battling it out with Bonucci.
Chiellini said he would retire soon, in a season or two; but until then I expect Manolas to play only when Chiellini's injured or in rotation. He's relatively young, so could be a good long term signing.
