I'm sick of the 2006 World Cup being mentioned as a viewpoint in all Azzuri arguments.
That's Azzurri :p

As an Azzurri fangirl, 2006 World Cup brought me wonderful memories. That's why I enjoy mentioning it as well as seeing it being mentioned here and there :touched:

Wonder how nobody mentions Euro 2008 when Spain completely outclassed Italy?
They outclassed the Azzurri in the penalty shoot-outs, yeah?

Oh and we are talking about World Cup. Two years from now, you can mention the Spaniards winning the Euros as much as you like.

or why Australia got robbed in the 2006 World Cup?
Poor excuses. Materazzi's red card was bullshit and Italy had to play with one man down most of that game. It was a way more ridiculous decision by the ref comparing to the penalty kick he gave to the Azzurri. And who said Australia could have won that match if the penalty hadn't been given? It was 0-0 at the moment.

or even why France dominated most parts of the final.
Yea and they had a non-existent penalty as well.

Nothing was sweeter than Trzeguet missing his penalty kick in that game :touched:

They even use it to defend player abilities. Barzagli is a World Cup Champion. Grosso is a World Cup Champion. :yuck:
But both Barzagli and Grosso DID win the World Cup honey :D

Not going to defend their abilities only because they won the World Cup but they were parts of the winning team. Grosso was probably one the best Azzurri players in Germany.

Thats why he's so overrated. I've always maintained that he was never anything special in the Ligue. A lot of people didn't take me seriously, dismissed my claims and argued that he was world class(just because he won the WC).

Of course he was, he was brilliant in the WC, just like Baros was amazing in Euro 2004.

Point is: One month of football where you play 5-7 games isn't much of an indicator is it?

Nothing is more idiotic, than supporting another nation different to your origin. So again who's the idiot?
My country wont be at the world cup so in order to make it more interesting for myself i will support another team, either the team i put some money on or the team with the most Juve players (Italy). Thats not idiotic imo (well maybe the gambling part is).

You're right thats not idiotic, not at all.

But when you have people thats countries are in the WC regularly and they support another country over their own, thats where it starts to become idiotic.

Both away and home kits are really bad, I'd even say that the brown shorts where a better idea. I hope that in the end there's no painting on the home one and no silly collar on the away one, just stick to the right colours. By the way is there a special symbol on the shirt to mark that they are cup holders? It'd be cool.

That's idiotic in your opinion. I want to cheer for any team I like the most. End of.

I normally don't use such term even when I talk about my own national team or Juve but I think I'm going to give it a go for the Azzurri in the upcoming World Cup
