Stop putting all the blame elsewhere, yeah Conte didn't use him to best suit his play, but Gio is not talented enough that is why he is not succesful not because everyone around him cannot understand how to use him so he could be Maradona.

Would have been top player otherwise? What makes you say that besides his one good season with PARMA? Do you know how many these types of players have been? Paladino the new Del Piero and etc...
Top players dont need to be pampered all their career to perform.

Giovinco has been given plenty of chances, but lacks the talent to perform at a team that isnt counterattacking in loads of space

Ah! dont be hatazz!

Since day 1 he has been used as an SS and failed. The few times we have let him play away from the box and in the build up, he has been effective:stuckup:. Remember how he destroyed Transzonpor like if he was Maradona.:delpiero:

He is a shid goalscorer but im sure he can be useful in another formation as a wide attacker.

He is no Padoin Ffs! he got talent.

If we sign pacy, small and technical players and smash them up front with their back to goal backing into people twice their size then we deserve to play like $#@!.
Exactly.
I dont know why is so diffuclt to understand. Its very basic that if you play a player out of his prefered position, chances are that he will most likely underperform.

We try the midget in another position moe favorable to him, then we judge!

Problem with Giovinco is, he's a good player but not good enough to change your style of play for, and he's simply too small and too weak to adapt
I dont mean change opur style for im. We need to change our formation anyways if we want to do something different, so this can benefit him, if he takes hic chances.

yes he can be useful, just like role players in basketball, but you make it sound like we lost a potential star playerm which imo was never in books for giovinco. He's a decent player, nothing more, nothing less.

We need proof!
As long as he is with the back to goal he will suck.
What proof? He's no kid and has plenty of games, what more proof do you want? You like the player, we get it, but no need to put blame on everyone around him just because he didn't become player you were hoping.

I cannot believe people are still having the Giovinco debate. He's 27. He'll be retired and some people will still be waiting for him to come good. It's as futile as waiting for Jesus to come back.

ok ill be sincere, im not sure if he would have achieved top player status, very unlikely. But i have seen him do good things on the flanks. Its a shame we have given him soo few chances in another formation.

He would perform better on the left wing probably but the team would most likely not benefit since his work rate, defending, possession and other things are not up to snuff.

It's like sure, he could look better playing in a position like Ronaldo's, but you literally have to be Ronaldo in order for the team to live with your weaknesses in the other areas of the pitch.

Against small sides, sure, I would give him run outs at left wing in a 4-3-3. I wouldn't be particularly fussed to change team tactics so that he can play there all the time though.

Nah I know that, what I mean is under Conte who was 100% for the 3-5-2 system he was useless. But he's not a fantastic talent therefore he was stuck having to adapt to our system as opposed to forcing the coach to accommodate him

at any rate, we need to get wing play back in to our team, i'm sick of wing backs (Who aren't even wing backs in the first place) with zero dribbling and average crossing being asked to make shit happen for us in the final 3rd.

We asked way too much of licht, constantly giving him the ball and expecting him to take his man on using a skill set he doesn't have, put in a cross/shot AND bust his ass defensively as soon as it breaks down

nah, its not like im a fanboy of him. If he goes then so be it. But there will always be the "what if" around him.
He was never meant to be DP´s heir. Playing him as an SS was a proven waste.

Yeah. Im sick of it too. In fact, Asa and Licht have done an outstanding effort in playing roles they are not supposed to do.
