We really don't need Keita right now. Just get him the year after for free if he's still available, if not, life goes on.
All the money should go to CM & RB. Since the RB's of good quality are difficult to find, the club seems to want to recall Spinazolla for the time being rather than spend on overrated players like Cancelo. The only RB I would spend money on right now is Fabinho, who has been playing DM lately, but I think he's a solid RB.
Also we could do with a Benatia replacement as well. His passing is terrible.

I get the sense that Keita is purely opportunistic. He is not management's priority. Marotta smells an opportunity to get a player who, on a long contract would be worth 40-50m but can be snapped up for 20m ish now or free next season. We may only raise the bid and get him should for whatever reason, someone comes in and bids a desperate price for Cuadrado.
My gut feeling is that we may get him on the last day but Cuadrado would be on his way out.
My prediction is: We get Matuidi and Keita.....but perhaps panic buy a center back if we concede goals in our first league game and Cuadrado ends up at Arsenal or Roma.

Otherwise I am actually in favor because his characteristics would suit the team quite nicely. Costa is an upgraded version of Cuadrado while Keita's characteristics are somewhat unique amongst the list of attacking players we have.

The competition for his signature will be huge next year. Therefore, he could demand higher wages and a a signature bonus. Actually, it might be cheaper to get him now than for "free" next season. One also need to consider advantages like the fact we will have him available this season and nobody gonna snatch him from us.
