I hope we keep it up, can’t mess up now when the points are there for taking!

The frustration and panic in Napoli’s game is just priceless to see so far! :touched: :baus:

The back passing is part of a tactic of an effort to bait them, open them up, lure them in and make them vulnerable on counter attacks, we had a few chances, one of them even produced a goal. The drawback is that it is risky, i am not sure we have another option though, we cannot compete with their midfield, unless...
Does Hamsik has a clause?
:agree:

Given their pace up front, I think it is a good tactic sitting deep, especially with the threat of Costa/Higuain on the counter. We need to keep hold of the ball better though.

We are making so many silly mistakes but one more goal will build our confidence and that is all we need. We need to make one counter count and this game is over.

Asamoah was our worst player, lost many balls, made many mistaken passes, was inefficient at defending mostly.
Khedira is the reason we are dominated in the midfield. De Sciglio was better than expected.

Well yes it's risky trying to bait attackers in when one of your defenders trying to pass around a bobbly pitch is Chiellini, but so far we've just about gotten away with it.

Pjanic is most disappointing for me, he's not using his brain when he receives the ball. Chiellini has an excuse - he has all the technical finesse of a brick shithouse.

Wow it is crazy to see how bad our midfield has degraded. Other than matuidi, we offer absolutely no bite, losing so much 50-50s. I'm sure mandzukic will do a better job than khedira in midfield.

Our fullbacks are non-existent too. Di sciglio is invisible and asamoah only stands out due to his skin color. Brain: black player doing well on the left...that's matuidi. Black player doing crap on the left...that's asa

Well they don't look clueless. Buffon has already been called into actions at least five times.

Dumb people saying Napoli is struggling are just swayed by the score line.
There's been more good than bad. Jesus, calm down lol.

Technically, missing Marchisio in midfield, & Chiellini has been poor with his passing. These resulted in us gifting them their chances. Nothing else wrong technically. On their own, they could only muster up long range efforts.

Tactically, perfect. 442 defensive shape, 4321 in attack with DC coming up against Hamsik and reyping him. We shut down their passing in the middle. Forced them to shoot from long-range.

It's Napoli who has more to worry about. Sarri went with the same approach Allegri was betting on and failed to focus more on wingplay to take advantage of our FBs. And they're overzealous in the opening 20 mins and gifted us a goal. Amateur stuff from Sarri.

There is no way AS can do worse than Asamoah under high pressing
At least Asamoah has been disciplined defensively....but has been poor with the ball. The exact opposite is the case with AS this season.
