Fuck Sevilla they were being disgraceful with the dirty little tackles and provoking and their fans also were complaining about every little foul, even obvious ones. Vasquez was an idiot and deserved the red. As for the penalty I already don't feel bad because fuck Sevilla, but we have seen Chiellini called for that exact grab in the box so fuck em they wouldn't feel bad if they got the call.

I've see that second yellow given as a warning and those kind of penalties not given many more times than not. But as for the penalty, that is partly because of the new directive, something we found out the hard way (unsurprisingly) already. I'm just so used to a bunch of players falling over and no matter who caused it the ref just blows for a free-kick to the defending team.
:agree:

Obviously it's thing that has been pointed out to European refs.

Cuadrado's and Sandro's.

Surely you havent lost your love for our amazing leftback while i was gone ?
Alex Sandro is disappointing this game.

It's kind of the Zambrotta syndrom, an attacking fullback who is used to penetrating from deep with space in front of him getting the ball in high up positions where is closed down quicker. Zambrotta used to be a mediocre wide midfielder but world class wing back for similar issues.

this is ridiculous. Sevilla outplaying us with ease and choked it all away stupidly
I like teams that run a lot and play aggressive, but it's a double edged sward. They lost lots of players and a winning coach in the summer and they're compensating that with pressing and aggressiveness. So far into the season it worked really well, being third in La Liga and keeping 4 clean sheets out of 4 in CL. Tonight, at least in the first half, their way of football came with a big price. Inexperience also played a part, because after taking that early lead they should have tried to calm down a bit.
