Nothing to do with 352. Our midfield is what's shit. Soft and uncreative. It's like they're hiding from the ball. The defense to attack connection reminds me too much of WC Brazil and that makes me cringe.

We look pathetic. Good thing we're using that home advantage. Most of the game's going on in our own half and then most of that in our starting third. Possession football at it's best. Passing the ball between our five defenders and goalie, and then hoofing the ball in the general direction of our two strikers, which means handing the ball to Nipples on a plate. Because that fvcked up midfield can't string five freaking passes if their life depends on it, let alone creating something.

At least Lemina and Sturaro would offer some chances to win challenges in the midfield. And they have the ability to sprint.

Pjanic needs to fall back and ask for the ball. Currently every time our CB have the ball Khedira drops back and takes it, or Hernanes. Pjanic is too far up. He is out of the game

So light weight and slow, not one of those cms can tackle. Defence is fine, wings aren't great and the attack is starved of any creativity in the middle of the park because when we get the ball there Napoli are out muscling us.

Really is terrible how we've gone from pirlo, pogba, marchisio and Vidal all in cm to this in 2 years....

This Higuain and Mandzu combi is horrible. No creativity at all. We should try playing Cuadrado and Pjanic behind Higuain. There are tons of space between Napoli midfield and defense but nobody uses it. Get Lemina and Marchisio in there and take out Mandzu and Hernanes.

Not sure how we can blame Higuain... check out our ball possession heat map and you'll notice we've not had the ball in their half enough for him to make an impact.

Our midfield is soft I agree, but still that 352 formation limits us. We have seen our best our best football in a 4 man midfield (reaching the CL final too)
